I was surprised by the detail that has gone into this place. My daughter absolutely loves coming here. I really liked the Tempe Music scene display myself. Very cool place to check out for central Arizona residents.

The Tempe History Museum is a great family-friendly venue that offers low cost and free activities such as lectures, musical performances, hands-on activities, festivals and events. They have a large one room exhibition space that has a permanent exhibit featuring information about the history of the community. It is a great place to quickly get oriented to the community either... More

Went in here and it was really neat to see the displays that they have of Tempe. It's in the same complex as the library.

It's quite limited, almost not worth the long trip. Unless you want to do some Tempe shopping or eat at VinciTorio's (see separate review). It's one big room, which, while well organized, has very limited actual historical materials, mostly photos. There is plenty of stuff to interest the kids, but adults would most probably be disappointed. Admission is free.

interactive displays, well air conditioned, clean restrooms, kid friendly, very focused in the Tempe area, located next to library, it's also free, very modern LCD monitors for videos, even though it is small in size, it packs a lot of interesting, but focused, artifacts, it would not compete with the other more larger museums, go here if you happen to... Since we are in Tempe visiting family often, we have visited the Museum many times. A good way to get the historical perspective of a place that now seems to be pretty generic. Many thumbs up for the many professionals and volunteers who have made this a place worth visiting
