This venue is old and has bad acoustics. The front row of the balcony has okay view if you don't mind watching under or over the safety bar. If you lean on the bar, you will be asked to leave as you will be blocking the view of the people behind you. There are not enough bathrooms for women--not unusual.... More

I am a HUGE FLW fan and have been since I was little. I had my FLW Field Guide and FLW in Arizona on hand with me so I was determined to see as many of his sights as possible and this was my first stop after arriving in Phoenix. This auditorium sits on the grounds of ASU and is... More

We love attending musicals at Gammage. The touring companies and the venue are a pearl in a geographical and cultural desert. (We live and participate in the Art District in Phoenix, and have this "Wasteland" debate all the time. Suffice to say for its population and wealth, it's not NY SF Chi LA or NO, hell, it isn't even Cleveland,... More

Historic, Frank Lloyd Wright designed theater hosts mainly touring Broadway shows. The site is a bit dated and needs a good refresh. Seats are a bit stiff. A past re-do allowed for larger shows. Compared to either venues, this is big. Free adjacent parking for the shows.

We were interested in visiting the Frank Lloyd Wright designed auditorium - so stopped in to see if we could look around for ourselves. They said no one was there to take us around - since an organ concert was going to begin in 45 minutes. We were so fortunate to go to the concert - which was free -... More

Gammage auditorium is one the best venues for Broadway shows, concerts. My wife and I attended shows and other evens there 10+ times a year. It is hard to believe it is 50 years old, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It is large but friendly with roomy seats that permit other to pass you without standing up and leg room... More

We understood Frank Lloyd Wright had a hand in the design of the theatre and we were on a sort of architectural tour of the area so it was on the list. I was somewhat disappointed after our visit. Only the box office was open. I would have loved to see the interior but we were not in town long... More

If you are a fan of FLW and are in Phoenix to visit Taliesen West do stop by here to see this great design of his. Originally designed for Baghdad - yes that city in Iraq- it was never realized there but instead here in Tempe. The geometric theme, ornamentation and frosted light globes as well as the large auditorium... More

Drove from Tucson to see my niece in this fun musical. The venue is huge but we'll organized and beautiful. Acoustics were great. We were lucky to get a back stage tour. A wonderful evening in a beautiful spot.

Still the BEST Venue in Tempe. Great seats from every angle. Grady Gammage had the vision to design a masterpiece for generations of Theater aficionados to enjoy the Arts! Could use a few more restrooms for intermission, otherwise a Fabulous Night in store for the upcoming OFF Broadway season.
