WE had adventure from soup to nuts back in April! Our pick up was on time, and the drive to the take off grounds was short. Winds almost knocked us out of the opportunity to fly, but the able crew put us on course. My twenty-seven year old autistic son was ecstatic for awhile, but as we rose higher, the... More

We tried booking with another company but they were booked solid. So we gave Northern Lights our business and boy, were we glad we did! Excellent service from start to finish. Over a 1 hour ride 1 mile up! And yes, THEY FLY BETWEEN, OVER AND AROUND THE RED ROCKS of Sedona. Our pilot, Dan was wonderful, very informative about... More

This was out first hot air balloon trip!! What an amazing adventure!! Our pilot Blair was awesome! Not only was he funny but a very experience pilot!! He made us feel very safe! His staff that helped us get up was fun too!! There were several other balloons going up when we were up. We stayed up the highest the... More

There are other balloon companies in Sedona, but I recommend Northern Lights. They are the most experienced, and have smaller balloons (about 6 passengers), which makes for better views and picture-taking opportunities. They pick you up at your hotel before daybreak. This is because the winds are calmer in the morning. As a consequence, you need to dress warm. I... More

We went for our ride with Northern Lights on Friday, Feb 13th. There were two NL balloons that went up. The other balloon had a family with 3 smaller children and the pilot. We had 6 adults and the pilot. In other words, this was a cramped basket that we could not move around in. Where you were was where... More

Thank you for your review, and for posting your beautiful pictures. It is nice to see evidence on TripAdvisor that your balloon flew the closest to the red rocks. We endeavor to give everyone the best flight possible, so were disheartened to read you and your wife feel gypped. Consequently, we have thoroughly investigated your review. First and foremost, we... From the moment we were picked up it was an adventure. Our pilot, Blair, had a great personality and sense of humor. He also had such precision in controlling the balloon. We went up up and away, floated so high we could see forever. Then we gently swooped into the canyon and floated above a desert forest before taking off... More

I had never been in a balloon before and thought Sedona would be a great place. The team at Northern Lights were wonderful. It was great but not as awesome as I was hoping for. We didn't go near the canyon, we kind of hovered over the water treatment facility for an hour. I did see other balloons nearer the... More

I'm conflicted. This was the best hot-air balloon ride I have been on; a great pilot, lot's of banter, good overflight of the National Forest. BUT . . . when you think Sedona, you think Red Rocks, We didn't go near them . . . and it was extremely disappointing to see a couple of balloons from the other company... More

We experienced our first hot air ballon excursion with Northern Light Balloon Expeditions. It was our 30th Anniversary and we decided this would be a great way to celebrate. The weather was gorgeous and our pilot Dan and his ground crew Alex were amazing. I was especially impressed with Dan's knowledge and expertise as he guided our balloon as close... More

My husband and I traveled to Sedona recently and the one thing we really wanted to try was a hot air balloon ride over the landscape. Northern Light did not disappoint and we were so happy that we were able to do this. The first morning we tried for a balloon ride, the winds were not in our favor and... More
