It was like having a geology lesson. The teacher in me really enjoyed learning about the area. Our captain was adept at handling the balloon and we felt very safe. The views were great. It is more of a peaceful experience and not really for excitement. I'm glad we did it, but once was enough.

I had visions of flying over red rock in a balloon with my family after a recent trip to Sedona. Unfortunately, this did not take place as all we did was hover in the same location for about an hour. We did not get close to red rock. We did not cross any red rock or mountains. We did cross... More

Imagine walking up before the dawn, driving to the middle of the desert and then take a balloon up in the air to see the sunrise. This is just the beginning, once you are up in the air it is the closest you can get to god (without windows or other barriers). The view is amazing and the feeling is... More

An amazing, breathtaking & peaceful experience.Felt like Jules Verne (around the world in 80 days). The only scary part was traveling with 4 gas tanks - but got used/ignored it very quickly. The pilot was so knowledgeable (history, geology, botanic, spiritually). After experiencing it, I prefer to travel on a hot air balloon than on a stuffed airplane.

Captain Ron is a knowledgeable person and probably an extraordinary pilot and I am sure Northern Lights is a great company, but this "adventure" does not deliver. What you get is 75 minutes soaring at tree top to 3500 feet above the ground, away from the beautiful rocks of Sedona and towards the flat Valley. The heat from the gas... More

Flew with Northern Lights on 3/17/15. This was our first time in a balloon in Sedona but not our first flight. The pilot and crew were friendly and knowledgeable, and the equipment all seemed to work well. The experience of being above Sedona in a craft like this is a definite must do. I am a bit disappointed however in... More

I'm not a big fan of heights, and did this to be a good boyfriend but I certainly didn't regret it! Our pilot Gary has been flying balloons in Sedona for over 20 years and was incredibly knowledgeable of the local landscape. The ride is surprisingly smooth and the views at sunrise are unforgettable. The best part about the whole... More

This was my first balloon ride and it definitely won't be the last thanks to Northern Light. They use smaller gondolas so it was a more personable ride with the pilot and guide who was fantastic (Daniel). He was skilled maneuvering through all the terrain of Sedona as well as giving us so much history and facts about the local... More

Great way to see the red rock! Our pilot DAN was very experienced and grew up in the Sedona area. He shared his deep knowledge and insights while expertly piloting our ballon up to an altitude of 11,000 ft. We could see all the way to Flagstaff. Nice smooth landing and a yummy breakfast followed with an Irish champaign toast!
