Airport Mesa has strong magnetic energy, because of that the tree are all twisted . There is steep rocks to climb. But you can manage if you step carefully. Once you reach on top the view is breath taking !!! Air is clean and your lungs can feel it !!!

Hiked around airport mesa when it was lightly raining, and while it did create quite a red muddy experience, it was very peaceful, and still a fairly easy hike.

What a view and it's all free. The view of Red Rocks was superb and it isn't hard to find. I can't believe more folks don't go up there.

We watched the sunset here a few times and while there were a lot of people it was a fun crowd with some impromptu singing! We also climbed up to the mini mesa and took in the phenomenal scenery there. Absolutely amazing views everywhere.

If you have time and want a nice place to watch the sunset, this is quick and easy to do. It's pretty the way the light dances off the different rocks as it sets. I would recommend getting there at least an hour early so you can watch the whole thing.

THE spot in Sedona for sunset viewing so time your arrival accordingly. When the sun sets, many people leave which is too bad because that's usually when the after-set show starts and the clouds light up...maybe 15-20 minutes later. Stick around....it's worth it:).

Woke up at 6:00 a.m. to go to the summit of Airport Mesa to watch the sunrise....and it didn't disappoint. Great views of all of Sedona. Fairly easy hike from the Airport along a path. If you don't want to hike from the Airport there is parking below the summit but fills up quickly at sunrise and sunset. Beautiful views... More

We made the trek up to Airport Mesa three times: the first time, we went to the top, opposite the parking area, for sunset. It was fine, but the light isn't really right for photography and you're contending with crowds. The second time (sunset) and third time (sunrise) we didn't go all the way up to the top of the... Our guide took us over to the right side of the Mesa. Nice vibe, supposed to be a "balanced" vortex. Enjoyed the beauty.

Free parking atop the airport mesa, with fantastic views of the city of Sedona and the red rocks below. There is suppose to be a vortex here. Restaurant at the airport/hotel. Further down the hill is a view of Bell Rock and a nice hike. Also the old pioneer cemetery is on this road.
