It gets a little crowded, but after hiking around Boynton Canyon all day it was nice to experience the end of the day with a bunch of people who were all there to appreciate the beautiful sunset together and a great day.

This loop trail was just fantastic! From the highland of the airport, you get the best panoramic view of Sedona red rocks landmarks. It is said to be a 3.5 mile loop, but the starting point was about 1 mile from the parking area. Make sure to take plenty of water with it's an extremely hot day as there is... More

This 4-mile hike traversed the Airport Mesa with views of the major Sedona formations and included one of the famous vortexes, if they are of interest to you. Hike was rated"moderate" in one of the guides we were using. It was difficult to find the trailhead without a detailed map. Accessed from a city park.. It was a great hike... More

The calm of the airport Mesa vortex is beautiful in itself, add the view of Sedona and an amazing sunset with a full moon and it doesn't get better than that!!!

This hike is a 3.5 loop trail around the Airport Mesa. The views of the distinctive Red Rocks formations are the best from this height. It is a moderately strenuous hike with narrow, rocky trails and some steep drop-offs. The desert landscape is beautiful.

In spite of the fact that this restaurant is hilltop on an airport runway with jet fuels streaming through the rarified air, the food, when it arrives, is superb. I had the Jackie O salad every time I ate here--which is about 4 times previously--but last Sunday I had a crab cake in some fancy sauce and quinoa salad which... More

Great view. So peaceful and apparently very popular at sunset. We went mid morning and met a few great people along the path. I'm not good with heights but I feel the masculine vortex was strong and I overcame my fears. A great beginner spot for new hikers. Can't wait to give back.

This was an easy to find attraction on Airport Road (there is a small airport for local air tours, I believe). We went in the middle of the day and there was a fair amount of people (limited parking and a central local to downtown Sedonia made for more people than at other attractions). A pass is required for parking... More

There are wonderful viewing spots everywhere in Sedona - just take a drive and pull over where ever you see a few cars stopped - they must know something! This little stop lets you hike up a small hill for stellar 360 views of Sedona and is one of the Vortex sites. Definately put it on your list.

Go up Airport Rd. and you'll see the parking lot on the left. Because it's so easy to get to, parking can be challenging...but, hang out for a couple minutes (out of the roadway) and one might open up. In this relatively small area, there is so much to explore. Go up the main rock and enjoy the views and... More
