This trail is a little mundane if you've taken, for example, one of the loop trails to the south in the Bell Rock-Courthouse Butte area, but it has a couple of nice features that still merit the high rating given here. One is that it goes to Chicken Point, a "cow pie" feature that you can scale and from which... More

We enjoyed this trail, however, several other trails run into it, it's not well marked and very easy to get lost. If your navigational skills are up to par, don't miss it - really lovely!

This is such a lovely trail, my favorite, and will be the first one, I hike when I go back. The day I went the clouds were in the shape of angels.

Not too hard, but not for those looking for a stole. The hike is about three miles up and back into the wilderness. There is a mild amount of actual climbing (leg work only, no hand pulling). Be sure to hike smart; lots of water, sun protection, proper shoes, etc.

I hemmed and hawed about which, of the thousands of hikes, to do during my one-day visit in Sedona. This trail did not disappoint. First, any trail in Sedona with views is going to be stunning. Half the time, I didn't know which rock formation I was looking at, but my jaw dropped nonetheless. Here's what I was looking for... More

i started from chicken point and started off on little horse trail but it was a bit vague so turned back and took what i thought was the correct trail. it became quite undulating and more and more vague until i arrived on a bare rock slab/cliff place where i couldn't find the trail. i searched around but couldn't find... About 1 and 1/2 miles, located in the village of Oak Creek. Signs for the parking lot right of the main highway. Check out the ranger station not too far out of town toward the interstate.

Little Horse Trail is great. It takes you to Chicken Point and all along the way you see Chapel Rock and the wonderful red rocks around the Chapel. It is a moderate hike and ends with dramatic views.

A great hike to a scenic overlook. Probably my favourite hike, because of the variety of vistas you experience along the way, and it was not too difficult for a person (like me) with bad knees. We took some wonderful photos.
