Lovely hike with several creek crossings. But the place seemed very crowded and not natural or peaceful at all. I would not go back.

,,, several years ago before they had a trail! Even so, the walk is beautiful and along water most of the way. Except for a bunch of walking in sand, the hike is easy. If you are into birding, take a pair of binocs as I saw several first-time birds to add to my Life List.

This is the trail to hike in the summer time as it is full of oaks and shade! Be sure to get there early, as the parking lot fills up fast during the warm summer months and then it is backed up on 89A with cars waiting for someone to pull out to be let in by the parking attendents.

Be sure to take your $9 per car cash or you will not be let in. Go earlier in the day so you have time to hike the whole trail. We started out about 4 pm and got nervous about the sun setting behind the canyon walls even though sunset was about 8 pm that night. Take your swimsuit and... More

Much of the West Fork trail is shaded as it winds through a deep and narrow canyon, but it also crosses the stream 13 times. Plenty of opportunity to cool off.

We loved this hike along the river. We started at 9 am and enjoyed the shady sections of the trail and the coolness of the river. You can wander around down the the river or just keep following the trail. We were on our way out of town - so we hiked about an hour in and then turned around.... More

We've got a zillion trail miles on our boots - but this remains our favorite hike of all time - although the boots for this trip are our water-walking Keenes.

So beautiful to be in and among the canyon (you come right up against the red rocks and feel their power) and cross the creek a number of times - very enjoyable hike and love the surrounding nature - plus, its a great choice if you're in the middle of summer as you're shaded from the heat for much of... On my last full day in the Sedona area, I decided to hike West Forks Trail. I wanted a really good long hike and the reviews on Trip Advisor and in some hiking books made this seem like a great option. Driving north on 89A was pretty easy until I realized I completely missed the turn-off. Unlike seeing big signs... More

Hike in a narrow canyon along a stream. Steep walls, great rock faces. Wild flowers and lush foliage contrasting with the rocks above.
