Lovely stop for a photo, great views and a must stop place to soak in the views. It does get busy, so get there early.

North of Sedona just past the switchbacks, sits this great gem of a lookout. When we were there Native American craftspeople were selling some of their wares. It sounds like this happens with regularity during warmer months. A great view and interesting folks. Stop there you will enjoy it.

This is the place to stop on 89A between Sedona and Flagstaff. Plan to stay full 30 min if you want to take photos and the weather is fair.

The overlook at Oack Creek Canyon is an amazing place to visit and it is also one of the most scenic drives in the entire US. We have hiked down to the creek and also enjoyed a picnic here. We also love the changing colors and amazing forest within the canyon. This is a remarkable place and a must see!... More

We stopped here mainly for the Native American market which we read about online and in a guidebook. The Flagstaff Convention and Visitors Bureau website says vendors here sell authentic crafts and jewelry but it seemed mass produced to us. There's a similar market down the canyon towards Sedona with similar merchandise. But the view from the overlook was better... More

A great place to view the Oak Great Canyon. Don't miss the pull off area. Great photo opportunity! Also there are Native American selling their crafts and jewelry. This site is supported by the National Congress of American Indians who protect the Native culture and crafts. I was able to use a credit card at one table. Prices are reasonable... More

After a few days of Red Rock gazing, it was a pleasant surprise to take in Oak Creek trails and the canyon. Being in this area is a real brain tease. You forget that you are in the high desert while gazing at all of the lush greenery. It is pretty and worth the time.

On Rt. 89A between Sedona and Flagstaff, Arizona is the Oak Creek Overlook. You will wind your way along Oak Creek from Sedona through a wonderful forested area of hardwood and conifer trees, and start winding your way up the side of a mountain. At the top of the mountain is the Oak Creek Overlook that gives you the opportunity... More
