The drive through Oak Creek on our way to Meteor Crater and Petrified National Forest/Painted Desert national Park was quite beautiful. The drive was a bit treacherous, some ice and snow in the valley - ell worth the drive - take your time and drive through during the day.

I decided to take 89A to Sedona and wanted to stop at this overpass because I'd read about it. Even though I was looking for a turn in, I accidentally drove past it because it wasn't well marked in advance (as least coming from Flagstaff to Sedona). It was on the left side when I headed down from Flagstaff. The... More

nice place to stop while driving through Oak Creek Canyon. Not the most amazing view, but very nice. There were also Native American vendors selling mostly jewelry, ornaments, and a bit of other stuff.

We drove AZ 89A from Sedona up to Flagstaff and this is one scenic drive that you have to drive. It is so beautiful, you will want to turn around and drive back down to do it all over again. The Overlook stop is nice, great view but the special attraction is the vendors selling their items. There were about... More

There are rest rooms at this location--not fancy, but will do. The overlook needs to be walked--cars are left in the parking lot. There is wheelchair access. The view is lovely. Do yourself a favor and take a 20-minute or so break from the car and enjoy the view.

This overlook is not as beautiful as the rest of the Oak Creek Canyon drive. It is worth a short stop for the view, but a longer stop for the Native Crafts vendors that set up here. Each day brings a different group of artisans.

The view is very nice though there are a lot of these in this part of the country...there are far more stunning views once you get to Sedona itself. Certainly worth a few minutes if you are in the area.

Be sure to stop on your way from Sedona to Flagstaff/Grand Canyon. Take your time to enjoy the long winding uphill climb with numerous chances to enjoy the landscape. Gorgeous gorge views along the path as well as an opportunity to shop the local Indian crafts/jewelry and talk to the engaging locals

After driving up Oak Creek Canyon on 89A north, this stop is a must. You can look down into the canyon and see the sharp switch backs of the highway. Licensed native American artists sell ther wares at this stop.

The view (and the drive up on 89A) was a highlight of our stay in Sedona. The expanse of trees and mountains truly puts life in perspective - I truly felt humbled by the grandeur. Make the drive, breathe the fresh air, and appreciate the hush from up there!
