This is a great place to hike. Its beautiful in the autumn but every season has its own unique beauty. There are other more adventurous activities available to do if desired. A great day trip for all ages.

simply put, this is the loveliest drive in Arizona. Places to stop include the Midgely bridge, Red Rock State Park, and West Fork trailhead. go all the way up the hill at the head of the canyon to enjoy the lookout and Indian craft vendors

The road was windy, exciting, breath taking and higher elevation. The mountains with their different colour for ages of growth were unbelievable. Take the road both ways north and south to/from Flagstaff to get different perspective. The beauty is a appetizer for the view of the Grand Canyon

Route 89A winds up (and the emphasis here is on that "up") Oak Creek Canyon from Sedona toward Flagstaff, and provides views of some geology that has always struck me as being somewhat different from all the Red Rock views right by Sedona itself, though clearly related. The driver is not going to get to see much of it, since... More

We on joyed the canyon, some of the vistas are quite breathtaking. We didn't get a chance to do any hiking so we plan on returning to take advantage of some of the walking vistas.

Just outside of Sedona on 89A going towards Flagstaff, you'll go over a bridge, stop at the end of the bridge and turn left into the parking lot, park your car, get out and bring water and your camera. The views, going under the bridge and around onto a trail, are spectacular, come back up the stairs, go left and... More

This is a long hike but with very little elevation change. You do have to cross the creek 13-14 times in both directions as it is a Linear trail. Get there early (9:00 am) as the parking lot fills to capacity. The fee to park here is not part of any of the Red Rock pass or State Park passes... More

This is one of our favorite drives when we visit Sedona. Very curvy so don't forget your Dramamine. Drive it slow and drink in the scenery.

We drove north from Sedona through the Canyon, which was a twelve mile drive. There was a lot of Fall color at the lower elevations, but as the road went higher there was very little. Late October or early November probably would have been spectacular. There is a large overlook/visitor center at the north end of the Canyon that has... More

A two lane winding road with amazing views. I traveled down it in a bus with an expert driver! Don't know how he managed all those curves.
