We just happened to stop by this family run ranch and they were very accommodating, even without reservations. We participated in an hour long trail ride and were instructed how to control the horses, which were seasoned veterans. I'm sure the horses have done this many times. Our wrangler was helpful with her explanations of different kinds of plants and... More

I can't believe that this place is free to get into. They have a great little petting zoo with pigs, goats, sheep etc they also have some games and a mock up western town village. The pony ride was lovely for the smaller children - it's free but you should tip the guide at the end. We will most certainly... More

We took our 5 year old and 7 year old out for their first trail ride. The staff, and especially our guide, Amy, could not have been nicer. Everyone was professional and the ranch was well-run. You can tell they respect their animals and treat them well. Amy was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We enjoyed every minute!

A fantastic trail ride at MacDonald's Ranch. We enjoyed 1.5 hours exploring the expansive area (they have over 1200 acres and you are quickly away from roads, noise, city, it is amazing). Ally was a great wrangler. She shared info about the area, knows a lot about the desert plants, helped us notice things like a packrat nest, hawk, jackrabbit,... More

What fun going on a one hour trail ride with a knowledgeable cowboy. The horse was very gentle and the weather was beautiful.

This was my wife and I 13th year anniversary and we always go horseback riding here ever we vacation. We showed up at the Macdonald Ranch by mistake and they were nice enough to call around to five different ranches before they found out where we should be at. After experiencing the great customer service we decided to go back... More

I had never been horseback riding. I admit I was a little nervous about it. The people who work there truly love what they do. You can't help but feel welcome. You don't get some practiced sales pitch. Just friendly banter to put you at ease. We were lucky, because we were the only ones signed up for the morning... More

Very professionally run operation. Our guide Wesley was well-informed and engaging. There was no danger of being bucked off our horses Sport and Buckeye as we rode quietly through the morning desert. I would recommend this for all, group or individual and looks like a great family place for an adventure.

We took our friends horseback riding during the sunset and had a blast! Guides were knowledgable, friendly and helpful. Before our ride the kids played all sorts of ranch games and visited with the farm animals. A uniques way to showcase the west to your out of town friends!
