I took the grandchildren theit for a horseback trail ride. They really enjoyed it. The horses were friendly and we were able to ride the trail by ourselves. The price was very fair for an hour ride.

We did the sunset trail and it was amazing. We had the guide to ourselves and we went out for a full 90 minutes. The experience was fantastic. My children 7 and 12 (first time on A horse) enjoyed it so much . Our guide Amy? Was great giving us so much information on the way. The sun setting whilst... More

Great trail ride in the early morning hours before the blazing sun kicked in! I have been to Phoenix many times over the years to visit family, but only tried horseback riding there on my last trip. It was well-priced and we had a great guide all to ourselves to lead us along a very relaxing and beautiful ride. Tip:... More

Jesse led our group on an early morning trail ride. The handlers are very good at matching horses to riders and the two hour ride was great. We learned a lot from Jesse about the ranch, plants and area along the way. We also saw a lot of animal life.

Allie (our tour guide) was very knowledgeable of the history of the surrounding landscape and filled our heads with many different facts that were interesting to listen to. Also learned about different types of horses and that my horse (Hank) was a Pentro horse raised as a carriage hauler for Wells Fargo. This is his retirement community! Relaxing 1Hr +... More

The MacDonald's Ranch was family-owned and much more reasonable than the sales pitched horseback riding ranches we were shown at the Sheraton Desert Oasis. The staff was very knowledgeable about the desert flora and fauna along the trail ride and very helpful to novice riders like ourselves. They had a small corral of goats, donkeys, and peacocks for children to... More

We went with two other people on a group horseback ride. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. She pointed out a bunny, box snake, and cactus information. A little breeze made the ride in the desert manageable. The horses were well trained.

The one hour trail ride was just enough for my daughter and myself! It was fun and educational. The staff is very friendly. My daughter wanted me to be closer to her in the trail line, and I wish I could have been. Overall, friendly staff and fun times! Also, you'll get a buy one get one free for the... More

My sister and I traveled to Phoenix for spring break. Came across MacDonald's Ranch by happen chance. Stopped in and they were not sure they could accommodate us on short notice being a busy spring break week. They were GREAT and got us in on the next ride out. Highly recommend though getting reservations a week or so in advance.... More

2 hour trail rides on ~1200 acres. Mini western town for the kids. They also have a stage coach. Location is very close to Phoenix. Very enjoyable. Also great for company outings including steak cook outs.
