Enjoyable galleries

We enjoy the Main Street ArtsDistrict. We especially like the Thursday evening art walks. On Thursdays, the galleries stay open into the evening and the atmosphere is delightful.

Nice galleries. Easy flat walk in the Old Town. Casual area. Not as uptight as Canyon Drive in Santa Fe.

We parked in the Nordstrom's parking ramp and then walked along the canal looking at all the art. It is advertised as being open 7pm-9pm. When we got there at 7pm it was obvious it had been open for quite awhile. We wish we would have arrived at 6pm but we were waiting for it to open. There are many... More

We enjoyed touring these several blocks of galleries all located together. Plus, it was their Art Walk. Most shops open that evening. Tremendous collection of western, modern, classic forms, including paintings, sculptures, etc. Spend a couple of hours then get a glass of wine.

There are many art galleries with lovely pieces on display for sale. There is everything from western to modern art. On Thursday evenings there is an art walk from 7 to 9 PM when all the galleries are open later and the trolley runs until 9 as well. We enjoyed browsing in all the galleries located one next to the... More

Very nice area, but many of the better stores with nice art pieces have left the area due to the fact that the bumpy economy held back spending on expensive art. The area is trying to replace these businesses with "art walks", refreshments etc. Nice walking area in a nice part of town

If your idea of fine art is a poster of "Dogs Playing Poker," then the Main Street Arts District may not be for you. This is not the place to shop for costume jewelry or cheap poster art. On the other hand, if you're a collector or simply looking for a special piece of art for your home, then this... More

The entire street (and some surronding areas) is almost entirely galleries. It's mostly high end items. The art walk on Thursday is great. Some of the galleries had people painting and one had a glassblower. It is right next to Old Town Scottsdale, a high end mall and plenty of restuarants. So you can walk around the whole area and...
