We loved strolling around Old Town in early evenings. It was a great place to eat and to shop for souveniers to bring back home to Texas. We only wished the stores would stay open longer; many of them closed at 5:00 pm.

Travel brochure said "Most western town in the West". I have no idea what they are referencing. The Camelback JW Marriot is western but the downtown is plain but expensive. No wooden sidewalks and horse hookups as described. Lots of shopping and a great Fashion Square Mall. Fun 2 tier golf driving range. Most restaurants not up to speed with...

We love the Old Town Scottsdale and always make it a stop every time we are in town! We love going to the little shops and picking up bargains
Old Town Scottsdale has a nice mix of tourist shops, art galleries and nice restaurants. I especially like the consignment shops with really high end stuff at great prices (try My Sister's Attic and Back to the Rack). The Jewelery shops also carry beautiful items--had a lot of luck at House of Gifts (on 5th) and Gilbert Orteja--and will bargain...

This place is completely different during the day as opposed to the night. The wine and tapas bars are hidden away. Good luck finding all the spots you want especially in the heat of summer. There is a great sports bar in old town that shows all sports from around the world. Some great night spots here as well not...

Yes, I know it's a tourist trap, but you have to go. It is so much fun walking through the streets, visiting all the stores, and stopping at the Rusty Nail Saloon. Parking can be a pain so car pool or rideshare.
We ended up in this area during our recent visit to Scottsdale. It's a really fun if you're looking for excitement / activity in the evening. It's populated with a ton of bars, many of them saloon style and you can see right into each place so it almost feels like there's a party on the street. It starts around...

We weren't in a shopping mood, so we can't rate that part of the experience, although we visited the Saturday farmer's market, which was a treat for us that time of year. Enjoyed stopping in a couple establishments for drinks and relaxing while exploring the area including the mall and art district. Just seemed like a decent area to wander,...

We stayed across the street from Old Town. We were in town during Memorial day weekend. Old town stores weren't all open. Most of them closed at 5. Most eateries were open. Found Old Town to be more hype then substance.
Great places to eat and have drinks - but for shopping? It is tired. Almost all of the shops seemed to have the same jewelery for sale and each one had a 70% off sign. Even then you felt like you were paying too much! There was one shop that had good quality Native American pottery and one that had...
