The Monument Course, which opened in 1990, was conceived by legendary golfer Tom Weiskopf and Architect Jay Morrish. In 2007, the course underwent a major renovation project, led by Tom Weiskopf. An entirely new playing experience was created by exchanging its front nine holes with the front nine of its sibling course, the Pinnacle Course, and changing the sequence in which the holes are played. Hallmarks of the course include balance, variety and immaculate course conditions.

Having played TPC Scottsdale 2 days prior, and shooting well from the tips, 4 of us decided to play Monument. Quickly learned that this course has a larger appetite for golf balls than TPC. The Vistas are remarkable on almost every hole. Rattlesnake radar should be on high for tracking down errant shots in the brush. The greens were hard... More

Unbelievable views, homes nestled in the mountains, rabbits, roadrunners, quail , eagles, and then epitome of desert landscape. Multiple t- boxes for every level of play. Challenging yet somewhat forgiving. Boulders , I think, were strategically placed by God to allow your errant ball to somehow find it's way back to the fairway. Every hole different. Greens not particularly challenging... More

After playing on Grayhawk yesterday, we were much happier with the two Troon north courses today. Monument has some interesting holes, but the houses seem to encroach upon the golf course in many areas. You have to keep the ball in the short stuff as the penalty to being out of the grass is very penal. You don't want to... More

Used to be in the middle of nowhere, now much more developed. Target golf in a scenic desert venue. Do not try and retrieve a ball surrounded by cacti...

Great desert golf. Not as spectacular as the pinnacle course, but still great. They have pull carts if you want to walk.

Played the Troon Monument course on a weekday with three friends in just over 4 hours. This is a high end course and it has all of the amenities that you would expect. The course was a bit wet from some nighttime rain but otherwise it was in terrific condition. Select your tee box carefully since play from the back... More

Good course, excellent conditioning, not overly challenging but several interesting shots. What makes it exceptional though are the views and beautiful surroundings as you climb up through the back nine. My wife who is not a golfer said it was worth the trip just to see the vistas and surrounding rock formations on the 14th hole. Accommodating staff. Great fun.

A beautiful, challenging but playable experience. Stay within your game and you will get your money's worth. Avoid the certain frustration from attempting your 'hero shots' here

We played the Monument course in November. It can be a bit cool in the early morning (in fact they had a frost delay that week) and later in the afternoon as the sun sets. The course is meticulously maintained and is worth the high green fees. It plays longer than the card yardage would suggest so be aware when... More
