Had a wonderful experience today at Cave Creek Outfitters. Did the 2hour early morning tour through the dessert and mountain range. Owner Cheryl and her staff run a very smooth and enjoyable horseback tour service. Their horses are magnificent and very well cared for. Jeff was our Wrangler for the tour and he was very knowledgable with the history of... More

We took the one hour , 5.00pm , ride into the Tonto National Forest. It was excellent. The staff explained the trip, helped us to mount from mounting steps and showed us the basics of controlling the horse. The horses were excellent, quiet, steady and clearly familiar with the route. Out guide , Jeff, explained the landscape, the climate, the... More

Our guide was Jeff and he was great. The horses are all well behaved and clearly well cared for. The early 8am ride was lovely and peaceful and a little hit but it is August. 2 hours of bliss. If you are going to go riding and you are staying in Scottsdale then this ranch is a must. Great value... More

Our 2 hr ride in Scottsdale was the #1 thing that our kids remembered from a 5 day trip to AZ. Not the Jeep trip, not biking in Sedona or the Grand Canyon. Horsebackriding with Jeff in the Sonoran Desert was their favorite memory.

Facility has restrooms and provides water. You can keep camera in pouch off horn of saddle. They help you get on and off horses. You walk through Tonto national forest. We saw jackalopes. Our guide Ryan was new from Alaska. He did a good job! Definitely wear long pants as you sometimes brush against bushes. Also wear a hat. Mostly... More

Went on the 2 hour ride though the Senoran desert. Our guide, Luis was excellent and kept talking to us about the landscape and the area, he was very patient and the horses were very easy to ride. The whole experience is very well worth it even if you have never ridden before. We will definitely be doing this again... More

My girlfriend and I went for a morning trail ride with a groupon. We went on the one hour ride and had fun. I think our wrangler was Luis, but I don't remember for sure. All of the workers were nice and welcoming while we waited and got ready. Regardless, our wrangler was friendly and taught us all the basics... More

We went on the 8 am one hour ride with our 8 and 11 year old daughters. Our guide, James, was very knowledgeable about desert plants and animals and made the girls feel at ease. The horses were great - very gentle and obviously know the trail very well so there is little/no skill required to make this a very... More

My husband, daughter, and I went on a one hour ride in August. They tell you to wear long pants because the horses use the brush to keep the flies off (so you will get scratched otherwise). Ryan was a great lead. He picked horses appropriate for our limited 'vacation only' riding experience. The horses knew what to do -... More
