Nice collection of cowboy art, some of which is for sale. Museum is small, so can cover the entire collection in one to one and half hours. Location is beautiful as well, and is a quick 15 minute drive north of Prescott on Rte. 89.

While I am not a fan of Cowboy/Western art I did enjoy our visit to the Phippen Museum. It is a modern building located is a beautiful location north of Prescott. If you enjoy Cowboy/Western art you will not be disappointed in a visit. I did enjoy seeing the horse drawn wagon which was displayed with many Western artifacts from... More

Although Western art is not our genre, we appreciated the fine quality of the works displayed here and the fabulous space.

We went to see a photography exhibit but thoroughly enjoyed the western art section too. If you are looking for things to do outside of the downtown shopping area, this is a great stop. In addition, you get to see some beautiful scenery across the street.

This modest museum is organized around Geo. Phippen, the founder of the Cowboy Artists Assn-a group of very talented painters and sculptors. But little in the way of their pics and art is present here. Phippen, however, is well-represented.

I knew the Phippen was special; I had visited it years ago on my birthday in 2011. In the interim years, I drove by it often, thinking I needed to stop again. I'm very glad I did. The current exhibit is on the museum namesake, George Phippen. He would have been 100 years old this year if he had lived,... More

The Phippen is a must do when you visit Prescott. From here you get the most awesome views of the dells and surrounding area. Inside you learn about the history of the area though the eyes of the world's best cowboy artists. The museum also hosts some really fun events with music, speakers, and art all related to the West.... More

We went to a program on Pioneering Women in Arizona. It was a very good program with interesting new content I hadn't heard before.I was also impressed with the quality of the museum itself. The facility is very very nice and the exhibitions are terrific.
