We were looking for a place to try out our new kayak that would be easy to access and calm. Goldwater Lake was perfect. Even my 90 year old father was able to get in the kayak and paddle around. The launch ramp was perfect and the water was calm. We also loved the many shady spots to sit and... More

We came to Goldwater Lake to escape the heat of the Phoenix area and to try kayaking with the company Prescott Outdoors. This is a small but pretty lake as it surrounded with pine trees. There are plenty of picnic tables for family picnics but parking is limited. If you are coming to kayak my recommendation is get there early... More

The smell of pine and hearing the wind blow through the trees gives you a peaceful feeling. Early morning is best if you enjoy the outdoor sounds and no people talking. There is a great fairly level path to hike around the lake. Plenty of benches to sit and rest and look over the small lake. Picnic tables are available.... More

We love hiking on boulders. But be aware that this is a technical difficult hike. Wear proper shoes so you don't slip off the rocks. Wear sunscreen because most of the hike is exposed to sun. Amazing views of the lake and dam. We can't wait to do again!

Secret. Wednesday's is free day. You don't have to pay to park. Take a hike, go fishing or just enjoy a picnic. Kayaks and canoes for rent on the weekend. Close to town yet a nice escape.

This is where are daughter is getting married. Its a beautiful little mountain lake, surrounded by tall majestic ponderosa pines. They have a very large pavilion, large enough to accomadate a wedding party of 150 or so people. And at approx 6,000 ft evalation, it's has perfect weather for spring, summer or fall weddings or other club meetings or gatherings.

This is not a bad place for a day trip and a great place for a picnic. The lake is pretty small and doesn't take long to hike around it. There is no camping available here but a nice place for an afternoon

Goldwater Lake has the area's best picnic grounds, with three ramadas that can accommodate groups of up to 50 people, each. A boat launch is easily accessible, from the main picnic ground. Trails are easy to access and are well-marked, including one which goes to White Spar and another which goes clear to Walker Road.

America uses its outdoors so well. This is a local place, with picnic tables, many benches around the lake and a really good feel. The lake is, actually, man made, but still good. It has the feel of up state New York, rather than Arizona. The walk partially around the lake take less than an hour. A pleasant hour or... More
