I have lived in Phoenix off and on for 20 years and have seen the downtown area go through many changes. It is sad when you see a once impressive entertainment complex collapse to nothing. I was there last week to meet a friend at the AMC theater and couldn't believe how desolate it was. I do agree with the... More

Check out Sam's Cafe. It's the best of the lot of restaurants at the Center. Some chains are there too. The Starbucks is a bit too noisy.

We walked to the Arizona Centre to do some shopping because of what we had read about it. It was posted as downtown's most attractive shopping venue with 50 shops. Unless I am totally blind and missed everything don't bother going. There are a few places there but from what a lady told us and from what we saw, a... More

There's a lot of empty spaces there, but if you're at a conference there's a great selection of restaurants at various price points. The movie theater is a great deal and gives 4 hours of validated parking. A newly released movie was only $5!!!

Nine different restaurants, 8 shops, business offices for Arizona State University, a 24-theater complex. They had an outdoor concert (local folk band). Well laid park to walk, relax. Excellent location, walking distance to most downtown hotels; across from Sheraton. One block from Convention Center.

We stayed across the street at the Sheraton for a three day conference meeting. At the end of one meeting, the speaker told us we could find a lot of good places to eat lunch at the Arizona center across the street, but told us not to go to Hooters, which she considered a no-no, and demeaning to women. The... More

I was not thrilled with the Arizona Center. If you are Business Person, you may be happy that you several choices of where to eat. There are Palm trees and a small fountain. Not too many stores. I walked there from the Hyatt and was sad that I really could not get any shopping in. I did visit the AMC... More

This is a convenient and attractive place for a meeting. Phoenix weather in October doesn't hurt. Food in center not bad, but prices more like N.Y.

Anchored by a giant Hooters (yuk), this glorified mall primarily features high-priced souvenir shops. Don't waste your time unless you want to eat in one of the decent but expensive first level restaurants (1130, Sam's Cafe). Disabled: escalators to the second level shops are not always working; could not find an elevator. Iffy bathrooms available to the wider public (I... More

We went to catch dinner and a movie for our one night stay and were delighted at this beautiful town center and shopping area. Only wish a few of the stores had stayed open later.
