We visit Phoenix (from Michigan) at least twice a year, and look for courses that are not lined with houses. Papago course has beautiful scenery and was in good condition in April. I appreciated the water / ice machine accessable from several holes, since it was in the 90's when we played. It is a long course, and this was... More

Tees, fairways and greens are in fantastic condition - so if you keep your ball where you are supposed to, it is beautiful. The "rough" is dormant brown grass so not difficult, but get a little further off line, and you are playing out of desert conditions ... sand/gravel, cactus, etc. Be warned that it will do some damage to... Every year I come to AZ I have to play Papago. Golf must have really made a comeback in AZ because all the courses are packed & prices are through the roof. This course that I used to play for $25 (before redo) is up into the $80+ range at peak times. I played in the late afternoon so got... More

THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE PRACTICE AREAS ONLY! Didn't have time to play, the course from just an observation looked nice and the card showed it to be very long to very short (depending which tee you chose...?) The "clubhouse" is a shack that is smaller than my garage, BUT the little shop is well stocked and the staff... More

Be careful which tees you play from. You will have more fun if you play the shorter tees. even from the White tees, you have 3 long par 3s 195 to 214 yards. That is poor design as most golfers don't have a hope of reaching them. Same goes for the par 4s. There are several that I could not... More

This is a municipal course that is well and maybe over used. The staff are nice enough. The club house could defiantly use some dollars in it. The course is dry however there are some interesting holes. Considering the price, you get what you pay for and its not bad.

Friendly staff, wonderful views of the mountains and foothills. Great place to play! Snack bar needs some more choices.

Golfed here with my Pops and Had a blast! It's got a lot of duck poop but that's a small price to pay for such a unique experience. If your looking for a fun course that's stood the test of time, this is your baby.

Good value with well maintained fairways and greens. Would recommend this course to anyone who lives in Phoenix area and has not tried it out.

This is a great public course. This will test your skill and patience. Cant wait to play it again. Call ahead for a tee time.
