Limited facilities for visitors, but the views of Phoenix from the top are well worth the drive up. More

I enjoy hiking, jogging the South Mountain! It has a beautiful scenery and at certain spots you can overlook most parts of Phoenix. It offers a number of trails and depends on the trail you take it can be an all day event or only a couple of hours. Print out a map which you can find online. The South... More

We LOVE the view from South Mountain, which we suspect is the best view in Phoenix. You can see the whole city stretching out to the mountains beyond, so it gives you a much different perspective. There are a number of hiking trails, but it's worth driving up the mountain even it if's too hot to hike, because it gives... More

You have to drive thru some shady areas to get there but the road is a straight shot into park. No fee, nice ride to top with lots of saguaran cactus! More

Camelback and Squaw peak have gotten way too busy. South Mountain is the quieter and just as scenic alternative. I did the small trails at the main parking lot and enjoyed the stillness and beauty of the desert. Drive up to the top for a knock your socks off view. Great for sunset viewing. Lots of trails for all levels... More

One of the oldest City Parks in the Nation. Beautiful Desert. Make sure yo drive to the top and look at Phoenix Skyline. You are actually higher in elevation than the airport and it is fun to watch the airplanes land and take off. More

It was really great when the sky was clear and the flower gardens were still there. Could be again. Bring back the smell of the citrus orchards! More

We went as part of a Detours tour and drove up to Dobbis Point. It was a beautiful clear day and the view was wonderful. As you might expect, the roads are winding and the sides are steep but they were in good shape. There were alot of bicyclists on the road that you had to drive around. The toilets... More
