Best $40/hr attraction in Phoenix! Great for beginners. Wrangler Peter was very informative about the dessert and park as we rode through. He even cracked some kid friendly jokes along the way. Would (and have) recommend this stable to others!

We signed up for a sunset ride for our family of 3. Max was our guide and he was so very patient with us. My 11 year old asked a ton of questions and he answered all to her satisfaction. The 1 hour trail was just perfect for us. We heard and saw coyotes as well as some quail and... More

Me and my friend came from San Francisco to experience something different from the bay area. We found this place by chance and We had a great time! The owner shared with us how much he lives to go to Sonoma, CA and buy expensive wine. Our ride guide was so nice! She made out trip so relaxing and enjoyable... More

I really wanted to go horseback riding while in Arizona for my birthday. My husband obliged, and found Ponderosa stables. When we first arrived, it was a bit weird, since the manager seemed to be barking at the wranglers, but we were eventually allowed to get on horses, and set out with a very nice man who spoke little English.... If you want to rent horse, or just take the kids to hang out. The ponderosa, is right at the tip of the South Mountain entrance. Place is cute, and very western like. Fun, for all ages.

If you care about animals at all, do NOT use this horrible company to go horseback riding. They do not care for their horses at all; they are never brushed, still sporting their winter coats from LAST winter. They are over worked, have saddle wounds, and have horrible mange. The owner, Rex, has a lot of horses on his ranch... More

The staff was friendly and the horses well kept. The ride through some rough terrain was a little challenging for a rider like me who has only been on a horse a few times as an adult, but the wrangler gave me helpful hints. The desert is beautiful and I expected the dusty environment. Bring your own water for the... More

We did the t-bone dinner ride. Glad we did. The trail was fun, the restaurant was delicious in an unique place with city views. Moonlight on the way back-very romantic!!! Calvin was our guide and made the trip!

This was one of the most fun things I have ever done on vacation. Period. This wasn't in the plan; my husband and I happened upon the place while out for a drive to see the desert. We checked it out and returned the next night for the sunset trail ride. I wasn't too sure about the whole idea as... More
