Great camping

We will be returning. We spent 3 days & 2 nights. I really enjoyed staying in a boat-in camp site. Night fishing on the lake was exciting.

It was our first time visiting over the weekend and we are already thinking about a return trip! We had water and electric hookup, plus a fire pit at night. Spot was level with glimpses of the lake through the trees. The Information Center had closed already for the season and the lake tours were also over by a week.... More

The drive up is beautiful, through valleys, mountains and the greenest trees. Beautiful scenery, great for everyone! It was peaceful when we were here, very quiet with normal occasional chatter around the lake. Bird watchers would love it here, as there are many birds throughout. Boat rentals available (several types). $10 fee for day use of the park, not the... More

This is our sixth year to camp here for the purpose of birding. Each year we have seen a few improvements and this year they have done some important things. The first is that they cleared a viewing area and added feeders about 300 yards down the birding trail. It would be possible for someone with a walker or wheelchair... More

During our visit to the Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve to chase birds, some folks recommended this State park which is reasonably close by. Very nice birding trails and the possibility to see an Elegant Trogon - which unfortunately we missed. Looks like this park has very nice facilities. Quick but enjoyable stop.

Patagonia Lake isn't the finest AZ State Park we've stayed in (in an RV) nor does it have the best hiking trails, but it does have 2 real assets: the lake and a very good birding trail. Actually there are lots of birding opportunities everywhere in the park. The lake is wonderful for kayaking, other than the numerous power boats... More

Tucked away in Patagonia, AZ, this park is a beautiful place for birdwatching. Although a lot of visitors go there for camping, the park accepts day visitors for birdwatching. The fee is $10.00 per car. There are even bird watching tours with volunteer bird guides. Depending on the season, there will be a lot of birds seen on the trails.... More

This State Park has a pretty little lake nestled between the mountains. There are plenty of camping sites, some with electric. Electric is $30 & non electric is $20 per night. You can swim in a roped off area of the lake that has a nice beach access. We only saw a few boats on the lake but no jet... More

We took a day trip down to Patagonia to visit the town and lake for the birding and see the area. I can see why this is a hotspot for birders. Lots of good habitat for both song birds and water birds. Many people were on the trails around the lake enjoying the sightings. Several of them were very helpful... More

We arrived and our reservations were screwed up so we went back to tell them and they insisted they were right. Then after camp was set up, came to tell us we had to move because they screwed up. The people coming in were jerks, but the people working there are quite nice, actually helped us move again. Nice hiking... More
