Nice little lake and well maintained state park, but the fishing was horrible! Only caught one fish after 8 hours of torture.

I moved to Arizona partly because of the birds. In the winter the lake seemed ok. But, returning recently to see lower water levels and the amount of cows (50) and cow manure every where and the totally degraded "natural" habitat, I will not return until the cows are fenced out nor will I renew my annual pass. Do people... More

Our birding group found a good selection of local sparrows on the way in and several nesting birds including Vermillion Flycatcher and Northern Beardless Tyrannulet

We've enjoyed Patagonia Lake State park numerous times, both for day trips and camping trips our varied duration and have never been disappointed. Yes, at times it gets a little crowded and in the summer the flies can be annoying but such is life at the lake and campground.

Pontoon trip for bird watching--great guides and beautiful morning on the lake. We went back for a hike later in the week.

May be one of the most beautiful lakes in AZ and well worth the drive. Be forewarned that the entrance fee is $15 on weekends and $10 on weekdays which is pretty steep. Rugged path around the lake allows one to get away from the crowds and before you know it you are remote and overlooking a beautiful lake. BTW,... More

The Park was well staffed and provided an excellent guided bird tour. It is a ways off the beaten path, but worth the trip. We are from the Eastern US and added over a dozen new birds in a single trip there. Good Facilities and well maintained paths and trails.

It was our first time visiting over the weekend and we are already thinking about a return trip! We had water and electric hookup, plus a fire pit at night. Spot was level with glimpses of the lake through the trees. The Information Center had closed already for the season and the lake tours were also over by a week.... More
