I liked that they had covered picnic areas even handicaped individuals could get to. The area was clean. They had clean bathrooms. There were many choices on using lake like RV, camping, picnic, boating and walking.

Nice little lake and well maintained state park, but the fishing was horrible! Only caught one fish after 8 hours of torture.

I moved to Arizona partly because of the birds. In the winter the lake seemed ok. But, returning recently to see lower water levels and the amount of cows (50) and cow manure every where and the totally degraded "natural" habitat, I will not return until the cows are fenced out nor will I renew my annual pass. Do people... More

This is a great lake once you learn to fish it you can catch a nice mess. Only bad or down side. One or two of the park ranger (the older ones) really should find a different job they are always grumpy and nasty cleaning the bathrooms are part of the job it's not the kids fault. They know who... Our birding group found a good selection of local sparrows on the way in and several nesting birds including Vermillion Flycatcher and Northern Beardless Tyrannulet

We've enjoyed Patagonia Lake State park numerous times, both for day trips and camping trips our varied duration and have never been disappointed. Yes, at times it gets a little crowded and in the summer the flies can be annoying but such is life at the lake and campground.

Pontoon trip for bird watching--great guides and beautiful morning on the lake. We went back for a hike later in the week.

May be one of the most beautiful lakes in AZ and well worth the drive. Be forewarned that the entrance fee is $15 on weekends and $10 on weekdays which is pretty steep. Rugged path around the lake allows one to get away from the crowds and before you know it you are remote and overlooking a beautiful lake. BTW,... More
