Enjoyed the wildlife exhibits and the friendly ranger! Even in January, the lake was frequented by people camping, hikers & quite a variety of canoes and kayaks on the lake. Destination for many nature lovers!!

I've been to Patagonia Lake for birding several times and it never disappoints. We usually do the bird walk up the creek and have seen Elegant Trogon there on 2 different occasions. This time we spent more time looking, unsuccessfully, for Green Kingfisher but we saw lots of other stuff. You can swim, fish, boat, hike, camp, BBQ or just... More

We holed up at Patagonia Lake State Park for three nights on our way through AZ and on to NM. This park had nice, clean showers and bath houses. The lake was a nice treat; take a stroll over the bridge. We also recommend exploring the nearby Sonoita Creek area.

We really just tripped over this place, and even more so the birding trail at the east end of the parking area. I didn't expect to go far, but every step I took I found another bird. Finally I found myself of the banks of a creek feeling like Snow White with birds just filling the air around me. AMAZING!... More

Met up with some friends from Flagstaff and some other friends from Fountain Hills here last week. Great place. Not real crowded, which surprised me (and was actually glad to see, given how many snowbirds suck up the camping places in our parks). Will definitely be back....

Always well cared for. Very friendly visitor center. Lots of family-friendly kind of campers around Thanksgiving weekend. Bird walks at the quiet end. Boating activities, can rent various kinds of boats. Sit near the water and listen to the birds, relax. Great weather this time of year. Small town of Patagonia 10 minutes away. Great coffeeshop (Gathering Grounds) - pick... More

The grounds here are perfect! My husband and I have been traveling for over two months in our RV and, by far, this is one of the loveliest State Parks that we've stayed at. If it isn't enough to have lovely surroundings, wait until you meet the park staff. They are wonderful! Ranger Mattox went out of her way to... More

We stayed at Patagonia Lake for 3 days in mid October, took in the drive up to Sonoita and Elgin for the beautiful vineyards and wineries .Patagonia Lake is known for all the birds in the area and we saw quite a few. The facilities at the RV park are very clean and the staff very helpful, all the RV... More

Our friend had us drive into the Patagonia Lake State to prove to us that Arizona had lakes! ( us being from Minnesota.) It was very nice a great picnic area and if you are into camping a great spot.

We spent 4 nights camping in the park. As we made last minute reservations, our site was nothing special. And being a weekend, the park was packed. Everyone that had a noisy toy or stereo kept the noise level at a dull roar. By midday Sunday, the noisy folks cleared out and all was peaceful. There is good birding in... More
