The place is a lot larger than you would think. It is quite the drive even after the highway. Getting the day pass will cost you $15 for the day. There are boats and such for rent. Be sure to check out the day use area, as it is a lot less crowded and cleaner than the beach area. The... More

Patagonia Lake is a small lake formed by the damming of Sonoita Creek. A beautiful lake, it meanders over about 3 or 4 hundred acres. It is located 12 miles southwest of the town of Patagonia. Day use fee is $10, a little steep as state parks go, but it is what it is. Little store in the park has... More

OK, so I am a skeptic, we were invited by a friend to camp at Patagonia over the 4th of July weekend. Other friends told us we were crazy! The naysayers told us it was a party lake that was loud and crowded. We decided to go only for the day to check it out. Our friends were camping on... More

We took our grand and great grandkids to San Diego last week to Sea World and also to the beach at Belmont Park. Well. the kids just loved the beach so much that they voted to go back to the beach in San Diego, of course we were not asked to vote. We told them we were going to the... More

We drove down with the intention of fishing, fishing access was challenging with out a boat. The lake has a lot of weeds and reeds and the bank areas to fish were not very family friendly. We were traveling with a smaller kid and other than the beach area really not very user friendly. The campgrounds looked very nice and... More

What a treat to have a refreshing oasis in Arizona! A water baby from San Diego really appreciates the ability to dip and swim and fish my heart out so close to my Arizona home!!!! The staff are kind and helpful and the place is a blessing! Thank you!

So today my family and I visited the lake and it was a blast. We rented a boat from the marina, which was the problem. The employes were very rude and when we were checking out the boat, the cashier said "Your giving them #2?" Later on, our boat broke down and it took over two hours to bring us... More

My wife, kids, and I went here for our first time on Memorial Day weekend 2014. It was very busy. The campgrounds were all full. And, there were lots of other non-campers looking to get down to the lake. We had a bit of an issue with our camp site. It was not clear where our camp site ended and... More

A gorgeous drive through rolling hills and desert scrub lead to an unexpected gem - Patagonia Lake. Very nice campground - I was in the area with hookups. Bathrooms/showers were adequate; could have been a bit cleaner but that is the fault of slobs who don't clean up after themselves. There is not a lot of hiking here in the... More
