Located within city perimeter, this animal treatment center has a huge reason for being - to rescue, protect and treat animals at risk. However, the apparent difficulty in raising funding and volunteers make it less attractive to the visitors center.

I had tears welling up in my eyes at the sight of a pair of lions in a concrete pit about the size of an Olympic size swimming pool; there was a sad looking condor in a cage no taller than 12 feet; a couple of wildcats in a pitifully small enclosure...
