We had wanted to do this trip sailing with Tres Maria's and had approval for my son in advance but they changed their mind when we arrived and only offered the yacht. We went to adventure company instead and had a great time. Staff very accommodating and make all efforts to please customers. Learned lots on yamamas- natives. Beautiful scenery.... More

Did a 5 hour cruise on Beagle Channel taking in great sights of many birds, penguins and seals. Was a nice precursor to the Antarctica cruise.

You have the opportunity to see the sea-lions, penguins and a lot of wild birds. Very reasonable boat fares.

There are many boat tours one can take out on the Beagle Channel. We took a two an a half hour trip but should have taken the six hour one. The longer one makes several stops and visits a wider variety of seabirds. In any case a must do.

Hiking through the Tierra del Fuego park, we paddled (briefly) through the Beagle channel. It was a nice calm, though a brisk current for sure. We stayed out on the outskirts, but the scenery was beautiful. Mountains on every side, cormorants, black neck swans, all sorts of other bird life.

This was a great trip to see the cormorants, seals and penguins. We also visited the oldest lighthouse 1902 circa. The finale was a visit to Estancia Harberton, the first ranch in Tierra del Fuego. Great trip.

From the city of Ushuaia, the Beagle Channel may look peaceful and not much of other significant. However from the other direction, coming in from Antarctica Continent, the shelter the channel provided for the ship that cross the Drake Passage mean greatly. Crossing the passage is quite rough in any standard since that stretch of the ocean is where the... More

The weather was cold and drizzly so I went out of character, and booked on a heated Catermaran, as opposed to an open sailing boat. Howevere there a few brave souls out there challenging the elements. The cabin on the boat was warm & comfortable, but one can spend as much time out on the deck as cared for -... More
