We had a beautiful day diving near the penguin rookery. The views of the mountains of Argentina and Chile around the Beagle Channel are terrific. Seeing Ushuia and the Channel lit up at night from the Arakur Hotel´s pool lat at night was also a highlight.

I wasn't sure what to expect from our ferry ride on the Beagle Channel, but we really enjoyed it! Beautiful views of the city and surrounding mountains, plus some of the local wildlife. The ferries get close so that you can take plenty of pictures of the animals and also let you off on a small island. The penguins were... More

If you ever make it to the end of the earth you must see the Beagle Channel. Named after ship that originally explored the area this is a must see. It is so remote and beautiful and you can just imagine the courage of the initial explorers that transited this area in a sailing vessel. If you like the wilderness... More

We were on a small Russian scientific boat to visit the Fakland islands, South Georgia and the Antarctica peninsula. We left Ushuaia just before 6pm in order to avoid paying harbor fees for another day. We sailed through the canal at the en of the day and at night. The water is calm, there is almost no traffic. We saw... More

Go by boat in the mornig as you can see the sun rising. And if possible in the upper deck as the view over the bay of Ushuaia and the Channel is amazing. We got lucky so we saw "orcas" the killer whales, besides the penguins and sea lions! In the boat you only have drinks and sandwiches, so if... More

Enjoyed a short cruise seeing the lighthouse, penguins, comorants and breathtaking views of the snowed mountains. Fortunately it was a beautiful blue skied afternoon.

I did a cruise on the channel. The cruises tend to cost anywhere from 500-700 A$ and last for like 4-6 hours. You do get to see penguins, sea lions and the world's last light house. But the view tends to get boring after a while and you might have more fun by going on a smaller vessel/ yatch or... More

Due to strong winds our tour of the Beagle Channel was canceled. Instead, the captain sailed our ship through the Beagle Channel. What an amazing place. Glaciers, snow covered mountains and brisk winds welcomed us. If I didn't know better, I would have thought that I was in Alaska. Again, the weather was dry, which often is not the case.... More

We paid Holland America for this 2 1/2 hour cruise on a catamaran. This was available from the dock near where the cruise ships come in. Some good panoramic views. We went past Isla de los Pajaros (Bird Island) that had a large number of cormorants. We also cruised around Isla de los Lobos (Sea Lion Island). No penguins. If... More

Due to an unexpected delay to our departure on our Antarctica Adventure, we were presented with a day's outing on a catamaran cruise along the Beagle Channel. A most enjoyable day where we saw Cormorants and Penguins at close quarters..especially King Penguins which had ventured North to entertain us...plus a visit to an old sheep station from years past. Service... More
