I was advised of the benefits of breathing the air coming off the glacier and I certainly slept well that night. I didn't venture far and just poked about close to the end of the chairlift but getting close to the trees and the ground in this area was enjoyable. And very calming. I didn't spend any money at the... More

A must! If you like to walk, you should do it. Get wam clothes and take a taxi from Ushuaia city to the entrance of the Martial Glacier. There you have a place to have warm drinks and a bit, if you want. As you look up it might look very steep, but it is only the begining, as it... More

The scenery at the top of the Glacier was beautiful. The hike, rather challenging for me as it is all up hill. Much easier for the twenty something with us!

Don't expect to see any ice - the "glacier" is tiny and was covered in snow when I was there, so unless you have never seen snow in your life (which you probably have when you end up in Ushuaia) it isn't any special. However, the valley below is beautiful, and you get a nice view on the Beagle Channel.

We had a wonderful hike to the second mirador at the Martial Glaciar. On the way up, we took the path along the water stream and came down the main path. The path along the water is definitely more picturesque and beautiful. The gradient also is less steep. We couldn't go all the way to the snow point of the... More

This is a really tough climb if you go to the top and walk on the glacier We decided to stop about 3/4 of the way up but the views and scenery were still fantastic The small cafe at the chair lift station serves good hot chocolate and cakes - your reward for your for all of the effort!

Had the fortune of having the Glacier view from my hotel, and luckier even to wake up one morning to see it snowed. The day before we had gone trekking to the base of the Glacier, was a 45 minute walk, we took the road that goes on the side of a stream, which was very beautiful. Totally recommend going... More

If you can get to Laguna Esmeralda, go there instead. But if you have only a short time, this hike can get you a nice view. The hike is dusty and ugly if you stay on the main path (former ski run), so make sure you stay to the right (as you face the mountain) on the path by the... More

It's a really easy trekking, and anyone can do it. I think it took me 3hours. When I was there, the cableway wasn't working. My suggestion is to take a cab (which is really cheap), then he will drop you on the bottom the mountain.
