Unless you have health issues do not miss out on this hike. You have to take a taxi to the base for about 7 USD And then start hiking up. The first leg of the hike to the base of the glacier is not particularly vigorous - I am 56 yrs old, overweight and have asthma and I didn't have... More

This is a must do walk!!! To arrive in the starting point of this walk is needed to get a taxi. Once in Martial Glacier you can choose to do the first part of the climb using cableway car or walking. The climb is pretty steep. I did it walking because the cableway car was closed. After this first part... More

Cost about $10 US. Nice diversion, chairlift takes you about halfway and then a hike upto the glacier. The last bit can be strenuous. Worth the time up and then relax at the nice restaurant by the taxi stand.

From the parking lot at the chairlift lower terminal it's a good 30 minutes steep walk up the wide ski slope to reach the upper terminal. It's only beyond there that the walk becomes really interesting (though the views over Ushuaia are fantastic). Depending on the weather and snow conditions you can carry on climbing - single track on the... More

This is a good day trek to do in Ushuaia, which can suit different levels of fitness. To get to the glacier, you can walk from the center (7km) or take a taxi (approx. 60 pesos). At the foot of the mountain you can either walk up to the starting point of the trek (1:30 hours) or take the chair... More

We took a taxi for approximately 60 Pesos to the chair lift which opened at 10. We took the chair and then walked around and appreciated the fabulous views of Ushuaia. There were many birds and low mountain plants to see. We walked down , grabbed a taxi back to town with enough time to have a King crab lunch and... More

We took a taxi from our hotel in Ushuaia up to the chair lift. It opens at 10am. From the chairlift it is a steep but pleasant climb up to the glacier where you get great view of Ushuaia. A trekking pole is beneficial and "sensible" shoes are essential. On the way back down we stopped at the cafe at... More

Landscapes are beautiful, and we stopped to eat lunch there at the base. Also took a chocolate drink at the top. Really enjoyable! Take warm clothes, it´s really cold up there!

The best thing about the Martial Glacier is getting to it. The "Aerosilla", a ski chairlift, is a lengthy ride up through what must be a ski-centre in winter. In summer it's a great ride but the glacier itself is a disappointment in this area that has so many superb glaciers. It has retreated a lot and the snout is... More
