It,s free - you can take a taxi or hitch from town to the carpark at the base, then walk up to the glacier. Afterwards, it is easy just to continue walking back into Ushuaia, about an extra 40 minutes from the carpark.

If you start the walk from the campground, then you have a nice hike towards the glacier. Its a well marked trail with big yellow arrows. The glacier it self is kinde dissapointing, because he is retracted quit a lot. The view towards the bay and the city is well worth it.

If you're in the area and have extra time, go up and experience it, but you can't actually go up onto this glacier, and it's white... unlike the amazing large blue Perito Moreno! Definitely doesn't compare, but again, if you have the time, why not see this as well?

Depending from where you start, it's a fairly long walk just to the base of the glacier where the chair lift is, so decide if you want to hike round trip or take a cab one direction. There seemed to be plenty of cabs at the restaurants at the mid-point if you didn't take one up there to take you...

We took a taxi up to the entrance and walked up a ways to catch the ski lift before we started hiking up a bit. It's beautiful up there and you can see all of Ushuaia.

The walk is good, very easy, and the view from the glaciar is specially beautiful, because you can see all the Beagle Channel... The bad thing: it's ALWAYS full of tourists. Go very early if you want to stay alone with nature. Don't go in the cable car... it's expensive, but you are not gonna do just the most easy...

Take taxi to the parking area (guidebooks say you can walk, but it's a long way uphill). The chairlift cost 50 pesos in January 2012, or you can climb. There is stil plenty of ascent from the top of the chairlift. Great views!
The restaurant on the right at the bottom of the chair lift is very good.

Nice glacier, great view. The trecking is a little too steep, very tiring, but short. Worth it.
