During our stay at Ushuaia we took a tour that was interesting & it offered information regarding the history of this city, the original inhabitants that lived in the area & the opportunity to ride el Tren del Fin del Mundo as well as enjoying beautiful views. This excursion visits Tierra de Fuego National Park, which is immense. It is... More

Depending on the time of the year you will get different and beautiful landscapes. Autumn on April brings you the yellow, brown and green wonderful coulors and winter the snow. In the morning some fog is expected so try to have flexible time to fully appreciate the wonderful views of the park

We were in Ushuaia to catch a boat to Antarctica. This was a half-day tour, and it was very nice. We had a gorgeous day and did a couple of short hikes around the coast.

A great place for one or two day hikes - amazing views, well organized trails. You don't need an organized tour - taking a minibus from the station in Usuaia and getting off at the harbor stop gives you lots of options for 4-6 hrs hikes plus some 30min-1hr hikes which can also be combined. The last minibus goes back... More

We also hiked the Senda Costera trail, which was beautiful, and the public van transportation worked fine. I would add that the park was remarkably uncommercialized. If you're starting at the park entrance, there is no place to buy water, so be sure to take our own.

There are 4 or 5 diferent trails - in terms of difficulty, most of them are classified as medium (there is one classified as hard). We went for the "Senda Costera" trail (the one around the coast) and it took us 4 hours to get it done. You do not need to hire an agency to do that but just... More

While waiting for our ship to depart the port of Ushuaia, our tour group took a bus ride into the park. It is very remote and only has a dirt road into the park. There were numerous places to camp along the way. Many were set right at waters edge and looked inviting. There did not seem to be much... More

If you go to Antarctica, this is a great spot to visit once you return to firm land. Do not forget to take your camera as there are many beautiful vistas to photograph. If you cruise up the Beagle Channel, there is a great view back into the bay you have just visited.

We went expecting a "nature" trip. But what we got was a walk down a road, poor museums, and crowded trails. I'd do it again, but on our own, not on a guided tour. Very disappointing.
