The end of the world definitely fulfilled its promise of wonder! The park was fabulous! My husband and I hiked two trails within the park which were still accessible and not completely swamped. We were the only ones on the trail and it couldn't have been more tranquil. The trails were maintained and fairly well marked. It was great to... More

Skip the waterfall and train. Go instead to the trails around the water. Watch out for the wild horses.

We camped in the free campsite by the post office in the park. It was basic, secluded, private and deserted! On the other hand the pay for campsite at Lago Roca was busy, noisy, stereos blaring! Go free and enjoy the solitude! The coastal wall was exquisite.

We visited here by bus from the main town (buses leave hourly in the morning until 2pm ask at the tourist office for details). We did the coastal walk (route 2) which was nice but mostly through woodlands so we didn't see too much. It was also quite muddy so take gaiters if you can. The shorter walks at the... More

If you want to visit the whole park is better to reserve a whole day for this trip. From the entrance until Lapataia Bay, the last point to visit inside the park are about 14km and it can be done walking (with amazing views and a lot of points to stop), by car or bus. There're a lot of trails... More

We took the cruise arranged tour which was great. The scenery was unlike anything we had seen and the wild life was very interesting. I would have liked to hike further along the lake and riverside, but not enough time to do it. You certainly could do this with a taxi, but without knowing the lay of the land, the... More

Well worth the visit. If you arrive on a cruise ship, pick up a taxi who are lined up as you exit the pier. We got one for $100 for the taxi (they can take up to 4 people) and US$15 park entry for each person. The tour was about 3.5 hours and the scenery within is spectacular. Don't miss... More

We really enjoyed our trip to Tierra del Fuego. We were dropped off at the restaurant and hiked down to the Bahia Lapataia. It was a beautiful hike that took us about 3 or so hours (we stopped a lot for pictures). It wasn't that crowded at all and there were many places to stop and grab a snack or... More

We started the ~ 5 mile hike at Pier Zaratiegui Bay and followed trail #2 to Roca Lake. Easy trail with few hills and wonderful views of the Beagle Channel. You'll discover old growth forest to pebble beaches, and enjoy seeing the birds. Beware that the turn off to Roca Lake may be confusing as it is not shown on... More

Its like Alaska without any large mammals. I hiked the #2 trail, which stays close to the shoreline. It was a beautiful and easy hike for about 3.5 hours. The bus leaves the park at 3, 5, and 7pm. Definitely worth the day trip.
