Worth a visit to learn about Perito Moreno the man. Gardens attractive to wander around. Inside some good technical information about the Glacier and photos of notable Telchehue Patagonian Indians.

The Intendencia Parque Nacional Los Glaciares is a small park in the centre of El Calafate. It has a small museum and cinema, a photo exhibit of natives in its corridors, and outside are statues, maps and old rural machinery. It is worth 30 to 60 minutes to take a look around, and if you grab the single seat near... More

We stumbled onto this museum while walking the main street of El Calafate. I would recommend seeing it. While we were there, there was an exhibit of native pictures from the late 1800s and early 1900s. In addition, there is information on the man; Perito Francesco Moreno which I found interesting.

Not much to see here but it's worth a visit prior to your glacier visit since you can learn a lot about what you're going to see and experience in the park.

This is a good place, you can stop and get information about the calafate area. Clean and give to you good info, is better go before the trip to glaciars. Near is the #1 house at calafate, only take photo but can show you this house almost 100 years ago

Located in the middle of town, great presentation on the exploration of the glaciers, the static displays are excellent and a great opportunity to pick up some local information

Visitor center in middle of town - main feature is a movie showing overflights of Patagonian Ice field and various glaciers No text. Just music. Gives an idea of the vast area covered. The scarcity of other exhibits is disappointing. Could be great, but isnt. Hopefully will develop soon Is still well worth a half hour visit. Movie runs in... More
