I was truely blown away when I saw the massive size of the glacier up close. This is one of the very few pieces of natural history, that's still around, that everyone must see at least once in their lifetime. We purchased our trip from Hielo y Aventura. We were only able to do the Mini-Trek because the Big Ice... More

By far and away the main reason to find yourself in Calafate, Argentina is to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier. This natural monument to the forces of ice and time is particularly incredible because it is so accessible, and I was tempted to go back and see it again after my first tour. I stopped by their offices in town (near the bridge) to purchace the tickets. We considered the Big Ice trip that my friends took and loved, but... More

Perito Merinoi Glacier has kilometres of beautiful Boardwalk to see this glacier that is not retreating. While you are there you can hear bits breaking off and calving. A boat trip on the lake is available and if you are lucky you can see the calving and the wave it creates as tons of ice collapse into the lake. More

If you have made it all the way to Calafate you cant not see the Glacier and I challenge anyone not to be amazed at this natural wonder. If you cant afford the boat, dont feel that you have missed out, the walk ways are incredible and waiting, watching that ice crack and fall is addictive. The restaurant is ok,... More
