I am not much for birdwatching, but this really was spectactular, from the shallows (the trails were wet and muddy, be forewarned) to a lovely walk right along lago Argentina. Well worth the 25 pesos, I would also recommend binoculars to get a closer look at the winged ones! More

This bird refuge on the edge of Lago Argentina in El Calafate is a nice break from the usual scenery in this area. Lots of birds foreign to those of us from the Northern Hemisphere, nice trail and boardwalk through the fens, good viewpoints. More

If you looking for something to do after you have done the glacier and youy like bird watching this little reserve is worth the visit. The is a marked trail, hides and you can hire binos. We saw plenty of birds, flamingos, small hawks. It is quite exposed so not for a windy/rainy day. More
