Just a beautiful park, nor too big, for a relaxing stroll. Flamengo's, birds of prey, small birds, walking birds, horses just in front of your nose, very relaxing. Nice scenery.

It is interesting how a lot of birds are getting to live together in this place. The path around the Laguna is clearly marked, there are some special built places where one can observe the wild life without disturbing.

A really nice place to watch the birds in their natural habitat. The information booklet was also pretty educational. One of the viewing points gives a really awesome view of the flamingoes in the lake and the mountains in the background. Perfect spot to catch the sunset (if you can stand the cold that is).

This lagoon is an ideal spot to observe many species of birds all in one place! Just a a couple of minutes from the center of Calafate you can visit this Natural Reserve and walk around. There is no need for a guide as the 2.5km (1.9 mi) path is clearly marked. You can expect to see flocks of Flamingos,... More

Lovely flatland walk, with birds, wild bushes and fall colors. A nice leg stretch and fun even for 7 year olds!

We were able to rent binoculars which enhanced our bird viewing and at the end of our walk when we returned the binoculars, she gave us a brief explanation of the hows and whys of mate drinking INCLUDING LETTING... This was a lovely way to spend the morning. We saw lots of birdlife and even a fox searching for unprotected eggs. The young girl who manned the desk was beautiful - she gave us great preparation for what we should look for before we left and then delighted in our stories and photos when we came back.

Any one staying in El Calafate should take the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary at Laguna Nimez. It's less than 1 Km from the centre of the town. During our visit, we were fortunate to see harriers and caracaras at close quarters, as well as many types of wading birds, including flamingos. Our guide, Josefina, was extremely personable and...
