In the summer, this is a great hike to do during the day. The view is really unbeatable and the refugio makes a good place for a cold swim and a beer. Takes about 3 hours to get up and 2.5 to get down. Very easy hike and incredible reward.

It is really very nice to go in winter , but in summer is a good choice for trekking , you take one of the chairs , and go up ,and walk .Nice views if the day is nice of the Nahuel Haupi lake .From town you can take a bus ,no need of a regular excursion .

The main advantage of this ski resort is the extensive options you have.
Plenty of trails of all levels. Getting to one place of the mountain to the other extreme can be time consuming or even boring as there are many old lifts and the connections are not very convenient. Also, there are lots of people everywhere and you have...

In summer, the ski resort is deserted, but you can get up the mountain with two different (rather expensive, 95 pesos pp) lifts.
With clear weather, views are stunning and you can do some walking around the topstation. There's also a large cafe.
From town, there are two buslines (around 6 times daily) that goes here, you have to pay...

Cerro Catedral skiing is completely different to Europe or the States.
the views are spectacular , skiing very good for the more advanced and the food in my opinion out of this world. The only drawback being the argies dont really like to groom the slopes too often so beginners find the skiing a bit tough.

This place is ridiculously overpriced, the facilities are rubbish and the transport is non existent. I never thought I would say this but these guys need to take a leaf out of the Americans book when it comes to running a ski resort... If you want my advice DO NOT GO HERE.... I went to Chapelco as well and in...

A nice place! And we do had fun, but for those experienced skiers, that is not the spot because of the bad snow quality (wet?!)! Eventhough, the village is gorgeous and in a sunny winter day, the view is very nice as well. Clues overcrowded by beginner skiers might also be a problem if you really want to practise by...

There was no fresh snow the week before or during our visit. The mountain is quite fun otherwise...shame about the snow. The village is alive during the day but completely closed at night which was disappointing.

It was very funny. I recommend to anyone who likes to ski/snowboard or who wants to learn! There are great schools. I recommend doing some research before you go, because the prices can be different.
The end of the season Sept 2010 was great, just a little bit crowded... The lifts are a little bit older and slow which bothered...

Bariloche is set in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. Some of the views are really very amazing, but if the skiing is what you are going for, make sure you have some spare cash! Although Bariloche is considered the most upbeat ski resort in the southern hemisphere, they havent figured out the upbeat discounts and ticket...
