The small town is located at the end of Lake Lacar, nestled between mountains. It's popular with boaters, climbers and hikers, and just plain sightseers. There are many hotels and hosterias, and a close-by camping place to accommodate the numerous tourists. Most picturesque is the area around the lake, where kayak rentals and boat service across the lake are offered.... More

After a long and bumpy drive through the 7 Lakes area, we were delighted to arrive at this pretty town on Lake Lacar surrounded by tall mountains. The homes are attractive, made even more so by hundreds of rose bushes planted everywhere. It is a very walkable town with nice shops, a museum and a couple lovely parks. In the... More

Beautiful houses made of stone and wood, with gardens of roses, it seems like out of a story book. There are no traffic lights, people are nice. The scenery is dreamy: deep blue lakes, forests, rivers, it's just beautiful. I would like to return!

We arrived on January with a great summer weather. San Martin is perfect for leisure, relaxing, or for hiking. We stayed at the Plaza hotel, which was very nice and good

This is a smallish town nestled in the foothills and next to Lago Lacar. There are plenty of great restaurants - everyday we tried a different one and were never disappointed. Make sure you take time to walk around the town- there are no traffic/pedestrian lights and the traffic slows down for pedestrians! We went to. A few beaches and... More

Great little town. Very up market. Nice restaurants and many boutiques. Certainly worth a visit. Many chocolate stores. Use the town as a base to visit the lakes. The views are spectacular

There's so much to see and do in this area, that this is indeed a perfect stop, but it's also a beautiful town with everything you need during travel. The tourist information near the church were also very helpful.

San Martin de los Andes, at the end of lovely lake and surrounded by the foothills of the Andes is a picturesque and friendly small town. Currently I am residing here for 3 months (am at the end of my second week) and each day marvel at the views, fresh clear air and helpfulness of the townsfolk. Getting here is... More

San Martin is a very pretty town with a ski town feel. Lots of ski and outdoor gear shops, lots of restaurants. A little expensive
