Stroll Around

We walked here from our hotel, about 20 minutes, a nice square to walk around, statues and cathedrals nearby.

nice place, relaxing. there is action around the park and much action around the park. I would recommend going and seeing. the banks are around here. there are a few places you can pay with the card so you need cash. I have seen many line ups at ATMs.

The perfect starting point for numerous attractions is the palm tree laden Plaza 9 de Julio at the heart of downtown, surrounded by buildings of religious, cultural and historical significance. See their crown-jewel of colonial architecture El Cabildo, the Historical Museum of the North, the renown Museum of High Altitude Archeology that holds three frozen Inca mummies found at the... I've been to or through this square every day for the last week. Dominated by the beautiful pink and white cathedral, the park in the centre and bounded on three sides with great restaurants to cater for all budgets and with plenty of outdoor seating. Add to the mix, some great local musicians. Coffee, dinner, a quiet drink while people... More

Everybody is out there. You must go to the Plaza and just sit there in the evening, everybody does, it is the center of the city. It is a lovely place. There are bars and historical places surrounding it.

Beautiful plaza with some beautiful buildings, lot of restaurants and people watching. Watch out for the show shine boys. A little too much. I must have been asked 8 times while sitting down for lunch.

This is the very heart of Salta, for history, religion, culture and entertainment. Its centre is occupied by a large garden containing several statues, some originally imported from France. The most important is a dramatic equestrian monument to Gen. Antonio de Arenales, one of the important military leaders of the North in its fight for independence. It stands 15 ft... More
