It is the centre of town and the focal point of what happens but it is just a typical town square that has more potential. If in Salta it is a must see but nothing special

Lovely gardens, statue and Sunday had music. The Catedral is located on corner have museums around Plaza. Have beautiful shops and restaurants. We visited museums before just enjoyed the sights very sunny day. We walked from Hotel they told us where to turn to reach Plaza and where the restaurants were.

The crowds in this plaza seemed quite festive on the day we were there. Historic buildings surround the paved square, and it is a nice place to sot and people-watch or have a bite to eat.

This is the center of Salta's Old Town, which is remarkable in itself. The city has succeded in keeping it's colonial architecture quite well, and apparently they continue to make efforts to improve it. The square is a jewel within this old neighborhood.

Great spot to kick back and watch the world go by. A central gathering point on the weekends for many people of Salta, as well as tourists. Lots of major landmarks on all 4 corners, lots to eat and drink. Very safe.

Right in the center of town, all the main sight seeing stuff is there- the churches, the museums, souvenir shops, the main shopping streets are all around the plaza and loads of places to eat

I enjoyed walking around to admire old buildings, most turned to be exclusive shops and fancy restaurants. I spent nights at Papyrus Hotel, an exclusive boutique hotel, situated at the foot of San Bernardo hills. The floor to ceiling windows allowed me to enjoy the glittering town in bed. The breakfast and dinner are delicious. I had breakfast on the... More

Beautiful! Enjoy the square while having a beer at one of the many terraces, but know a beer is cheaper just around the corner ;)

No matter the time of day or night.the Plaza will have something to do or see. In the evening it seems the whole of Salta is gathering here, eating, browsing, sitting around ,people-watching. The Pedestrian walkways around the Plaza was crouwded with people. I especially enjoyed Florida Bouleward, there is even a nice Supermarket, and lots of shops. The Plaza itself is save, police patroling and... More
