We contacted Nick from Poncho tours only a couple of weeks before we visited Argentina. Our time was short (three days) but Nick was able to come up with a number of walking options for us. We flew to Salta and from then on everything was organised for us. Transfer, hotel, the walk including accommodation and food. Really excellent. Nick... More

My daughter and I picked Poncho tours based on tripadvisor reviews and we are so grateful. Our guide for a two day tour was Mariano. He is originally from the northwest of Argentina and knows the history, people, culture, nature, and politics inside out. We learned so much from him and he was adjusting activities based on our interests. From... More

Since we were tight in our schedule we wanted a personalized tour and Nick was happy to adjust a trip to our needs and timespace. Communication by e-mail before reaching Argentina was clear and easy, no language barrier. Our tour to Saliñas Grandes in a comfortable vehicle was stressfree and we enough time for snacks and food. Nick knows plenty... More

We have just done a three day private tour with Nick Evans around the valleys near Salta. We started out with a short walk high up on the puna including a picnic lunch and continued onto Los Cardones National Park where we took another short walk amongst the giant cacti. We stayed overnight in delightful Cachi, ( staying at the... More

We called up on our way into town and were lucky enough to be able to squeeze in a day tour and the last minute out to Cachi. Nick was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, interesting and willing to discuss all topics from geology, flora and fauna, local history and folk law, politics and local travel tips. The route he took... More

We had a fantastic 3 day tour with Nick through NW Argentina. We started in Salta and did a loop around Cachi and Cafayate. The landscape and scenery are simply stunning. I had done a great deal of research about our trip to the Salta area. I found Poncho Tours on TripAdvisor and from our first point of contact, all... More

For anyone who is worried about the language barrier, there is no better option than choosing a true and true Englishman as your guide. Nick is very knowledgeable and speaks fluent Spanish and English. He's also an avid hiker and trekker who has experience in doing treks and hikes off the beaten path -so if you are thinking of anything... More

We toured with Nick for 10 days, from Salta to Mendoza. When we booked this trip I really had no expectations whatsoever about what we were going to see, other than hoping to taste a lot of good wine. In no way were we prepared for the spectacular scenery, day after day, each day different from the last! That said,... More

We had a great tour with Poncho of the remote Northwestern corner of Argentina. I'm a photography buff, and our guide, Mariano took us to those places we definitely would have missed if we had been on our own. Also, Mariano was a wealth of knowledge for history, culture, politics, and local flavor - what a great guy! Only criticism is... More
