Great experience in the park. A lot of people but it is still kind of intimate. Great hike under the full moon. Light hiking with great narration from one of the senior park rangers. Suggest tennis shoes and a flashlight.

The campground has lovely, spacious sites with full hookups, picnic tables and fire pits. The bathrooms are well kept and even have showers. During the day, we hiked in the morning and went shooting at the nearby rifle range. Usery is a located a little higher than Phoenix, but camping Jun-Oct would be too hot.

We hiked the Blevins Trail and a couple other trails at Usery. The ones we were on were wide, sandy paths, more a walk than a hike. All the intersections were clearly marked with signs. The map for the trails available when entering the park was thorough. arThe scenery was great, with saguaro blooming, cholla, and prickly pear. The only... More

Great park to visit and drive through. Park has fantastic outdoor shooting range, also very close to Tonto National Forest and Lake Sagauro.

This is the first hike I've paid for in Phoenix. Didn't really care for that part, but the hike was good. Started off not having a clue and ended up on the Vista Trail near the Merkle Trail. For someone who likes hiking this one left a bit to be desired. It maybe took 15 minutes. Eventually wandered over to... More

This litte jewel is fairly close and if you're in shape, could probably walk to the entrance. You'll find local wildlife almost immediately. The views are something from Arizona Highways. With the Salt River, a stones throw away, makes for an excellent day hike. Sunrise, sunsets are amazing... You'll forget that you're less then 1 block from "regular" life. Great... More

Good mountain trails, plenty of views, and a short easy trail when it gets hot. Close to Salt River, this park shows the backside of the large mountains that face the river.

The gentleman in the information station was showing us live creatures from the area. So informative. Spent so much time with us. Good variety of hikes. All ages would be welcome. Even if you don't want to hike, you could sit outside at a variety of spots. Will go again.
