The course is older and has challenges with houses in play on most holes. Used to be a John Jacobs Golf School course but they took out the ranges and 9 hole executive course 5 years or so ago and filled in with houses. Shots better be straight rather than long or you will get into trouble. Fairways cut very... More

This golf course is a fairly typical 'resort' course. It is cheap and there are only a few hazards so it is not overly challenging; some holes are fairly tight with housing so if you tend to 'spray' the ball you could have trouble. There is no driving range so several golfers arrive at the first tee cold and proceed... More

If you like to play golf and you appreciate excellent greens. This is where to play. Painted Mountain is a very nice course to play. It does give you a lot for your money. Driver on every par 4 is not needed if you can hit long irons. The layout of this course is nice. A long par five to... More

Ice was delivered to us 3 or 4 times. I shot my best score in 25 years! Wide fairways, with some water and some sand. Lots of green grass, and not a lot of desert. Slope rating was only 64.3 from the whites, which was just up my alley for a 22 handicap. There were houses along both sides for... More

This course is residential, houses surround the course entirely. If you are a big slicer, or have a heck of a hook- be forewarned. The staff is very friendly and helpful, fees are reasonable- cheapest if you book on their website, not on the phone. The course is a bit tight, but pretty with some mountain views. The view of... I played this course several times while staying at the Painted Mountain Resort which is adjacent to the golf course. There is a pretty good golf package available for guest at the resort, $48.00 for 18 holes plus cart, or $24.99 for the twilight plus cart and a steak dinner at the clubhouse. I took advantage of both and I... More

This is an excellent course on the north side of Mesa near Falcon Field. The course was in perfect condition and offered some challenge while still being very playable for duffers. Layout is a little unusual with a par 37 front and a par 33 back but it all works out well. You can find great deals on-line for this... More

The Painted Mountain Golf Course is easily accessible on McKillips just East of Recker. Their prices are reasonable compared to other full-sized golf courses in AZ and it is a pretty course. The first three holes and the last three are lushly green this time of the year, while the other 12 holes vary from qite green to more of... More

Barely worth the free green fees. Slow play. Nothing worth looking at on the course
