Built for more than 100 years, starting in the year 1580, this beautiful petit Cathedral its one of the main exponent of the colonial era of the state. A well maintain facade with lots of colonial baroque and renaissance elements, its beautifully illuminated during the nights and offer a great interior. Lots to admire inside in one of the most... Very interesting from a historical perspective. Construction began in the 1530s and continued apparently for some 200 years. The cathedral itself is in a good state of repair, but if you're looking for something that is going to blow you away, this is not it. Worth seeing if you're in Córdoba and enjoy history or churches, but otherwise would not... More

This cathedral is free to visit and a refreshing change from other churches with tour groups speaking loudly. Virgin Mary (the 39 centimeter one) is STUNNING and I recommend you enjoy a long quiet moment of reflection.

I disagree with other reviewers, this is an amazing church and the center of the historical city of Cordoba. You can feel the spirituality here and understand why this has been an important spot for the Argentinian people for centuries.

I am not very religious, but it´s a nice experience to visit the cathedral of the city because of its history and architecture design.

It doesn't take long to suddenly have "church overload". However, it DOES pay to at least pop in and see what is important in the city. You are at the Plaza.....and there is LOTS to do anyway.

So this isn't the most amazing church, but it's a symbol in Cordoba. You need to at least walk by and try to stick your head in. It's in the center of town so there are lots of shops, and you can sit and people watch in Plaza San Martin.

We visited the Catedral on a sunny afternoon so there were a lot of people inside as well as in the plaza in front of it so it was nice and full of life. I also liked that it had it's reflection on the pavement in front.

This old cathedral is ugly and dreary and, in my opinion, a difficult place in which concentrate on one's prayers. Perhaps some individuals are inspired by such atmosphere...

The jesuit church, with the guided tour is more interesting. If you are not yet bored with spanish colonial religious stuff, you will be pleased.
