This old train station has been converted to become a beautiful mall, just off the famous Florida street. Visit this place for sure, even if just to admire the beauty of the building. The stores are higher end than the ones on the street, and the prices follow. But so do the quality.

Great Fascade, the highlight of Calle Florida. The shops are upmarket and expensive. But if you like shopping then this mall is for you.

The Galerias Pacifico was built in 1889 as a shopping store for the city’s elite, later converted to a train station then in 1945, and later in the 90’s remodeled to the existing grand shopping mall. Beautiful frescoes were added in 1945 by Argentine muralists and they are the centerpiece of the building. In itself, the building is worth seeing... More

The Galerias Pacifico is the classic up market shopping mall in downtown Buenos Aires on Avenida Florida, which is the main walking shopping street. The murals on the ceilings of the central dome are worth seeing even if you don't shop or take a cafe there.

The beautiful red Christmas trees and architecture was enough to keep us coming back to the mall. It was absolutely beautiful. The stores are all very high end. We did not shop...we just looked and looked

I had seen reviews of this location and wanted to visit. With the Christmas decorations and tree up, it was especially magical to walk around and view the mall very every angle. We walked downstairs to eat our first Argentina Empanada - delicious. The bathrooms were nice also.

So when was the last time you went to the Mall Food Court and had the choice of two or three steakhouse grills? Probably not ever if you're in the US. But in Buenos Aires they take their beef seriously and this Mall offers T bones to filet mignon at the food court. And it's really pretty good.

The Shopping Mall is very attractive with lovely murals on the ceiling. It was resplendent with a very tall Red Christmas Tree which I had never seen in the past anywhere else - Ready for Christmas already!

Perhaps the most beautiful of the active shopping centers in Buenos Aires, not only can you explore the belle epoch architecture from the inside but you can enjoy the famous Berni frescos while sipping an excellent espresso in the center of the Galerias. Even if you're the sort of visitor that avoids malls at all costs, this is one worth... More

The first impression when you enter the Galerias Pacifico will be that it must be a museum - it is a wonderful piece of art! Just walking slowly through the galleries will make you fly above clouds. A lot of global brands and shops are present inside, and slowly sipping a coffee in the central terrace surrounded by magnificent orchids... More

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
