OK - everybody says you have to go if you're in Buenos Aires on a Sunday, but it wasn't all that great, just a lot of junk. The good stuff is in the antique shops that surround the square, but you won't find any bargains. And remember, if you buy ivory you can't bring it - legally - into the... More

This made for some fun shopping, but most of the items were lower-end crafts (and not all handmade) rather than antiques. That said, there were some unusual things that we did not see elsewhere (a knife forged entirely from steel cable, jewelry made from silverware). Don't forget to look up! Not for the shopping but for the balconies and other... More

The actual antiques are over-priced but the whole area around the market offers so many bargains if you go to the right places. There's a disguised shopping area way past the market on the left hand side that offers leather jackets and goods at reasonable prices. But the whole area is full of good restaurants and shops at great prices... More

We went to the sunday market and it was amazing. there were so many vendors and tons of people. In general its a lot of junk but a good place to buy souvenirs if you need them. A fun afternoon in the city! More

San Telmo market is great on a Sunday but the key is to sort the tourist stalls from the local merchants. There are great antiques here if that's what you're looking for. There are also some fun souvenirs. You can sit out the outside cafes around the square and watch the action too. I went to Sant Telmo Market 15 years ago and got some great bargains on real antiques; it has changed a lot over the last years. The quality of antiques has decreased somewhat, and prices are steeper. It's harder to find something that makes your heart tick, but still a lot of fun to browse the shops. It's a great... More

Kitsch and crazy, this market offers great people watching more than anything. Techno tango blares as you wend your way through tourists and locals alike, to see what's on offer for purchase. Want a deconstructed beer can with a handle? Want a baby doll that would frighten Jane?! A zebra print rug or a mate gourd or a handmade belt... More

this is a must go if u are in BAs for the weekend. the main square has many little tents selling souvenirs and arts & craft. However, the hightlight are the locals who dress up as movie/cartoon characters (captain america, superwoman etc) and you can take pictures with them. Don't forget to bring small change to drop into their tip... More
