We asked the concierge of the hotel to book us into a traditional tango show and on the advice of several people we'd talked to while touring around we skipped the dinner and arrived in time for the show. We had excellent seats, just one table away from the stage. The dancing was phenominal. The music, with the exception of... more

There are several tango shows to choose from in Buenos Aires. This one was recommended to us by the guides from the BA Free Tour. They’re local portenos so we figured it was better to trust their recommendation rather than picking a random show based on questionable reviews. Although they did recommend it, they gave the impression that going to... more

Despite what some others have said here about this venue, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening there. We were in Buenos Aires to visit our daughter who was studying there, and her Argentine host family recommended this as a good place to see a high-quality tango show. On that particular evening the floor tables were not arranged in long group tables... more

This performance showcases a number of tango styles with dancers of various ages. Our concierge arranged for a wonderful first balcony table for the show only. We appreciated the old film clips shown on a large screen explaining the history of the tango and highlighting some of its biggest stars. The orchestra was positioned so you could enjoy their talents... more

Excellent, excellent, excellent! I was amazed at the mastery of the orchestra (which is above the dancers, unlike in more traditional theaters) and the dancers, the beautiful costumes, and the atmosphere. This is a small theater with tables instead of rows of seats. Food is served with the show, but we ate before arriving. Still, the smell of empanadas we... more

The greatest show I've ever been. We were there at 9 p.m. and an elegant waiter led us to our table we had reserved a month earlier. They took our order and 10 minutes later we were eating. They've got an excellent service. Were all the time there to know if there's something missing or something we needed. While we... more

We were recommended this show from a local Argentine family friend in Buenos Aires. The food was very good, excellent service, and the show was a memorable sight. Very enjoyable and entertaining. Don’t get there too early! We got there 20 minutes before the start time of the show, and they asked us to be seated right away. We were... more

Perhaps it was the reservation by our concierge at Sofitel that snagged the four of us a booth that seemed slightly elevated in comparison to the 50-person tables directly in front of and perpendicular to the stage, but we were certainly less crowded. This is definitely an assembly line production as far as the food is concerned, but it was... more

It was my wife's birthday and we decided to spend the evening in Esquina Carlos Gardel. came from New York and booked a very good room in Faena hotel. The hotel staff made a reservation for the show and we paid 1400 arg. pesos for two tickets. Food was not very good but we came to enjoy the tango show,... more

Order VIP tickets ahead of time. Go to the front of the line. As you enter the restaurant, get your photo taken with a tango dancer. SMILE! Be seated at a table that faces the stage. Receive champagne, a bottle of Malbec (Rutini). Order the lomo jugoso, and it'll be tender and medium rare. Order as an appetizer the prawn... more
