We knew one thing we had to do while in Argentina was to watch a tango show, so we had our tour agency book us for a dinner and show. We paid $55 US. The dinner was pretty good - an appetizer, main meal and a great dessert. The tango show was good, but not really what I expected. I... more

If you´re looking for some authentic tango entertainment, this has to be one of the best traditional tango shows available anywhere. The sister resturaunt across the road serves a three course small menu meal, timed to perfection so that all are fed and watered before the show starts. In truth, the service is so fast, you´ve hardly finished one course... more

The El Viejo Almacen is part of the history of Buenos Aires, and is one of its oldest and most famous tango shows. I was worried before I attended it that it might be tacky or toursity as a result, but I was pleasantly surprised. The dinner-show package costs 300 pesos per person and includes free transfers to and from... more

Okay, so I was a bit pessimistic about going to a Tango show, but my wife wanted to see one - and I did too - but could take or leave it. Now, I did check some inhibitions at the door, but I must confess I had a great time. The dancing was fantastic as were the musicians. Also a... more

I booked a dinner show on the day. The food was no better than McDonalds and looked it, too: a big-mac burger size beef, 3663 chips with a strip of yellow and red pepper each for vegetables. The tango show is across the road from the restaurant and not really a tango show, but a guess of what an uninformed... more

We went for the show only, had VIP seating on the balcony in the center. An outstanding show, best tango we saw in Buenos Aires and the other performers also were great. There were a large percentage of locals which gave me the impression that if the locals come it must be good and it was! The audience also sang... more

The Tango dancers were good; but too little dancing. The show also offers various bands and singing; it was almost like a talent show. If you are looking for tango dancing show, this would not be it. Also, if you don't eat dinner there, be ready to be stuck in the corner of the room .... more

We had read a ton of reviews everywhere and still couldn't decide which tango show to go see. We asked our front desk attendant whose grandfather was a tangoer and he recommended this one hands down. We have to agree We also went to CafeTortoni's and this one was better BY FAR. The dinner - The food wasn't gourmet by... more

Our hotel recommended this place for a tango show. After reading the reviews, I was a little skeptical, but we went with the strong recommendation. It was not an awful evening, but it was not a great place. The show was in a fairly small location, with seats crammed in and a large column in front of our table. The... more

Certainly some flashy dancers here, and you can't ignore the accordion player, who is brilliant. But this is a truly commercial venture, and overall, a vulgar and unpleasant experience. We felt herded through the machinery of El Viejo Almacen like so much cattle, from the very average meal, through rude and hurried service, manufactured "culture", and endless, greedy demands for... more
