Owner description: The national drink of Argentina, mate, is a brewed herb that’s traditionally sipped through a special metal straw—and in a social and communal setting. This museum in nearby Tigre plays tribute to the special role of mate in Argentinian culture—and of course, offers both a store and a “Matebar” where guests can consume this unique beverage.

This neat little museum is worth the trip on the train to Tigre. It has 2000 items and the owners are very informative about this nacional past time. It has a video to watch with English subtitles. I even bought a mate cup, straw and some yerba as the price was very resonable.
