A group of us went to casa bar after seeing ads on craigslist. The place turned out to be great. They were showing the sunday night football game, had relatively inexpensive beers on tap, (10 pesos for a liter), and the service was great. Situated in an old mansion in the heart of Recolleta you get the old charm of BA with a postcard view out the front window. It has been my home away from home! They have great food, wings (american style!) and a bunch of TVs for when football is on! Most of the people that work there speak english.. Great place to go if you miss home! more
Buenos Aires is truly an amazing city and I thoroughly enjoy my time here. What it lacks are places to watch American and/or International sporting events. There are few places that do air sports and I have visited them all, but my favorite baar none is the Casa Bar in Recoleta. Found this place through Craigslist searching for a bar... more
Arrived in Buenos Aires and looked everywhere for American football - found Casa Bar through CraigsList and it did not disappoint. Great deals on beer and food looked good. Lively crowd of expats and fanatics - Alamo Bar also alternative bar recommendation around the corner, although smoking still quite popular (not at Casa Bar though).... more
Had a great Thanksgiving dinner (Nov 2008) at Casa Bar. For 50 pesos they started us off with a plate of tomatoes, olives, various cheese, ham, procuitto & melon followed by a FULL plate of tukey, dressing, mashed potatoes, carrots, cranberry sauce, apple compote & rolls and ended with pumpkin pie & expresso. This is a great bar centrally located in the heart of recoleta. Of all the bars I visited this place aside from being one of the stunning, by far has the largest selection of spirits in the city ( which they proudly boast about ) , an impressive beer selection ( 20 or premium bottled beers craft & imports )... more
