Convent of the Order of Christ in Tomar was one of the biggest surprises during our trip to Portugal. We arrived there in the afternoon, quite tired and bored after long drive and... this is a site that we felt very luck to have all to ourselves during our mid-March visit. Not many tourists at this time of year. The architecture is fantastic and the grounds around the site are really beautiful. You can easily spend 1/2 day + exploring the interior and exterior. More
