Simonsig is one of the oldest wine estates in Stellenbosch (there are hundreds today) and one of the estates which founded the wine route 40 years ago. It sued to be one of our favourites 30 years ago, admittedly when there was less choice, but somehow we had not visited for about twenty years. Most was still the same, large... More

We had been told that this winery/vineyard had excellent wines so we really were looking forward to our tour. The farm had a really worn look and feel with all the old farm tools scattered around and presented in a very artful manner. The tasting room was very large but we decided to sit outside on the terrace. Unfortunately, the... More

This person does not know you. I have visited Simonsig on numerous occasions and only received the best service from you. You make us feel special and have always explained every wine in detail and certainly patiently. It is the only wine farm I don't feel like a common wine drinker, but like a real wine connoisseur. Keep it up... More

Beautiful wines, some of the best in the Western Cape! Never had a bad bottle of Simonsig wine-ever! The restaurant is also fantastic with beautifully prepared, very tasty food using good quality ingredients prepared with a local flair. You like great wines and great food then look no further. I will be back again and again :))

Simonsig's wine is not badly priced, but then its definitely not the best wine in the region. The cheap wines, are exactly as priced, cheap and watery. The more expensive wines are good but we found it to be a overpriced for the taste, as you can find better bubbly and reds in the area that taste great at better... More

My parents were coming from Jhb and we wanted to go out for my mother's birthday, after having looked at a lot of restaurants near Stellenbosch I found that most of them were just incredibly expensive. I looked on the Simonsig website loved the Cuvée menu and it seemed reasonably priced for a wine farm. When we arrived we were... More

Simonsig is ideal for wine tasting, cellar tour and lunch! Try the Cap classique Cuvee Royale it' s simple heavenly. Also the red wines like Frans Malan blend is a joy on the pelate. The guides are well educated and friendly, the atmosphere relaxed. Lunch at Cuvee restaurant is a gem with exquisite crab dishes or perfect venison.

Simonsig is home to a resturant called cuvée and and section where you can taste wines either at the counter or as part of a conducted tour . There are a wide variety of wines to choose from and many have won both local and international awards . You can also sample the MCC or champaign . The scenery in... More

We settled for a tasting as Cuvée Restaurant was closed for a private function. Not that this was a "second prize" experience at all: expertly presented by wine advisor Alismi - whose knowledge is matched by her obvious passion and friendly charm - each wine impressed more than the previous one! Try the Cuvée and Kaapse Vonkel in the MCC... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Simonsig. Denzel, our very knowledgeable guide for the cellar tour, did really explain a lot about all aspects of winemaking and the history of the place. Very informative and relaxed. The same for our winetasting. Each wine was properly introduced, and we could take our time tasting those beautiful wines. Lunch at Cuvee restaurant... More
