A magical setting for lunch outside under the oak trees. Serving only steak and frite with a scrummy herb butter along with the vineyards reds. This was a very very good lunch!

This must be one of the best value for Money wine tasting in the World. Extremely good wines. Seems to be a very well managed estate. We did not visit the restaurang but it looked very good.

This winery is so amazingly beautiful! Of course the reds are great as well--but it is really worth a trip just to drive out through the wine lands to visit this winery. The people were friendly and it was an enjoyable day with memorable scenery!

At the end of a tour through the winelands we stopped at Rust en Vrede, for the final tasting, and it was truly worth it. The red ones are good, but those which are somewhat rare are the best. That was so convincing that we bought two bottles of 1694 (a red blend which is marvellous) for a great price... More

The wine and scenery is excellent, shame there is only one lunch you can have and even not a starter. We tasted the wine but only got like salt and pepper for the starter :-/ Waitin very long for steak to come Though... So I recommend it, but rather eat before and just do the wine tasting!

This was our final stop during a day of wine tasting in South Africa, and it was the best of the bunch. Excellent wine, the service was attentive but unrushed, and the wine was excellent.

The wine cellar is very nice, but the wines on the wine tasting are not much more than OK. The steak and chips lunch was nice. All and all - if you're coming to taste and buy good wine at reasonable prices - it's not the winery I'd recommend.

We visited Rust en Vrede on a Saturday and enjoyed the 5 wine tasting option seated at the cafe tables out on the patio. The vines overhead were turning to red and views of the mountains beyond were framed by the ancient oak trees on the lawns. The wines we tasted were excellent and the venue was very pleasant. We... The estate is at the end of the road, the deepest among a series of Stellenbosch wineries. The name Rust en Vrede is Dutch meaning "Rest & Peace", and the place seems true to its name with its peaceful surroundings in the hills. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try its famous restaurant, but we did do a round of... More

Whilst staying at a nearby spa, my mum and I were treated to a meal at this beautiful estate... The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and we had a lovely evening. The ease with which they catered to our slightly challenging dietary requirements was refreshing - they tailored the menu to each of our needs to create... More
