Spier is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, with a recorded history dating back to 1692. Spier's winery has won multiple awards in recent years, including Producer of the Year (Mundus Vini, Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show 2011). We also performed exceptionally at the 2011 International Wine and Spirits Competition (five Best in Class Gold medals and two trophies), and were the top performing SA winery at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles for three consecutive years. The Spier cellar has ISO 22000 certification, is Fair Trade accredited, organically certified and follows the Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) criteria.

We started of with a picnic at Spier estate - I booked a basket online so there was an easy pick-up, add a bottle of wine and of you go, find yourself a nice spot on the grass. Lovely local produce and wine! Afterwards we visited the birds of prey enclosure where they had owls, birds of prey and some... More

Lovely estate not limited to wine tasting. We were fortunate enough to enjoy our lunch at their restaurant which serves their hotel guests. It was lovely; food was amazing and they even had an appetizing option for vegans which was refreshing. Wine was worth the drive... It is Spier afterall

The picnics at Spier Wine Farm are good value for money. To sum it up bread, cheese, cold meats, pate, spread, butter, fruit and chocolate brownies. I do feel thought it was lacking in that perhaps charge a little extra and add some water and even a small bottle of wine? The setting for the picnic is not great. One... More

All hyped up to visit my - what one was - most favourite place on earth! Since I moved out of Cape Town I have not had the chance to pop in at this former "Garden of Eden". What a shocking experience since I drove by what was the equestrian centre - sadness - to see the stables disappear between... More

We visited here as part of a large group. The food was well prepared and the service was good. The standard was higher than typical for such a large venue.
