We loved the Spier 21 Gables Chenin Blanc and when we got back to Arlington, VA., we were so pleased to see that our local Total Wine store (Alexandria, VA) stocked some of this fine white wine - perfect for summer bar-b-qs and such. We also liked the Spier 21 Gables Pinotage - a wine unique to South Africa, a... More

The wine tasting was great & the bird sanctuary is pretty cool but the cheetah is no longer there though.

We decided to drop in for a picnic. Their website said that we had to pre-book but we were delighted to find that you can pick food from a deli-style food shop, rent a blanket and go and have a picnic lunch in their scenic gardens. Being in the off-season and on a Monday, they were was not busy at... More

The Farm is amazing. Filled with lots of space for picnics or to use for special occasions. The wine is really good. Service is efficient, the food is exquisite and the chocolate to go with the wines is just perfect. Definitely a farm to go see again.

We attended the give star plus. Raptor interactive Centre. A must attend venue. Early at 11hoo. Bought wine and farm stall produce. We did not savour the Restaurant or partake in wine tasting.reserving such for next time. Four star only.. We arrived early..Got the feeling.. of 'geared for high volume' tourist busses ? Staff and trinkets vendors , foreigners..Not from... More

Being a local and someone who has visited many wine estates, this one simply does not CUT IT!! The feel and touch is so CORPORATE orientated that they have lost the plot... about what a wine tasting experience should be... A dish cloth has more personality than this experience... The tasting cost more than any of the other wine estates,... More

Lovely Spier... what can I say. From the moment you drive through the gates, you realize that you have reached a special place. From the craft market stalls outside, to the stunning views of the lawns and river... (buy picnic food at the deli!) All the staff were more than helpful, making sure you enjoy every minute and are well... More

Look, I’d probably had one too many wines (and brandies!) by the time our tour arrived at Spier, but I really enjoyed it. The dining room, with large windows through which soft sunlight flooded, was magical. The continental style lunch of cold-cut meats with bread and oil was delicious (and needed!) and wines were a nice match. Service was attentive.... More

Whether we visit Spier for a family lunch and expect to spend a whole lot of money (the food is worth it) or whether we want to experience the Eagle Encounters, which is fascinating and fun, we leave Spier feeling rejuvenated. Long walks through the gardens, exploring for the children and watching the various birds and squirrels is tranquil. The... More
