Surprisingly interesting group of furnished houses spread over a couple of centuries. Nice gardens too. Well worth a visit. Please remember to tip the lovely local guides.- they deserve it!

This was an unexpected tour - our tour guide set this up for us. Great history lesson of S. Africa, although some were self-guided. Worth a visit, but I'd spend about one hour in total, depending on the depth of your interest.

Nice to see four houses throughout the ages and how things changed and developed in the area. Interesting if you are looking at the history in the place,

Well curated and maintained, this museum (made up of 4 different original houses) is well worth a visit, great care has been taken to display everyday items. The "hostesses" at each house, in period costume add a nice touch.

This is by far the best museum I have been to in a long time! If you have been to the Strawberry Banke Museum in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, it has much the same feeling but with a twist. We came about this museum while walking through Stellenbosch waiting for my niece to finish writing an exam. We went to have... More
