We were familiar with Tokara from the UK so were always planning on visiting. This was the only winery that had free tasting. I think they know how good their product is and it really speaks for itself. They also do olive oil tasting as well, and the views down to Stellenbosch are spectacular.

We enjoyed a guided wine tour of the region and were taken to this vineyard. We sampled 3 white and 3 red wines from this famous vineyard. All presented by one of the experts from Tokara. We were not rushed and enjoyed engaging with the wine expert. We had a good look around this stunning location, also had a meal... More

Our last stop of our day of wine tasting but definitely one of the best. A fantastic selection of wine, known to most wine connoisseurs of South Africa. A free tasting, as well as an olive and olive oil tasting creates a wonderful overall experience of Tokara, we would have loved to stay and share a bottle of wine however... More

We went back to Tokara again after visiting them 3 years ago, and once again they did not disappoint. The location is stunning overlooking helshoogte pass in the mountains. The winery is very modern, the tasting is free and we love the wines and the friendliness off the staff.

A free wine tasting exposes you to their phenomenal range. Accompanied by an excellent view of the valley you cannot really go wrong visiting this estate.

I am in the customer service business and so is my husband servicing big corporates and can't believe how we were treated. I have never been made to feel more unwelcome. We were in the estate to taste at 4:45 they close at 5 to taste some wine. We are on honeymoon and have been received so well by Robertson,... More

How disappointing... I have been to Tokara on previous occasions and wanted to visit again on a recent most beautiful Sunday afternoon just after 2pm. Contrary to the stipulated hours for the Deli and Deli cafe. It was CLOSED. It states Tuesdays to Sundays, the cafe is open till 15:30 and the Deli shop till 17:00. All closed - no... More

This was one of my husband and my favourite vineyards in the Western Cape. The wines were delicious and the staff very friendly and engaging. We also really enjoyed an olive oil tasting - the first for us.

This stylish winery is furnished in mid-century modern décor. Wine tasting is free and you get six choices of wines to sample. However, nearly half the wines on the sampling menu were unavailable. Beware, if it’s busy, there will be a long wait for a spot at the sampling counter.

Visited here in 2011 and bought a bottle of their Brandy. It was so good that I travelled thousands of miles to come back again to purchase another bottle. The staff are great, the wine is lovely (testing is free) and the brandy is just gorgeous. Will have to try to come back in another couple of years.
