My friends and I (three couples) went on the "Foodies on Foot" tour with Bites and Sites on our first day in Stellenbosch. Simone was our tour guide, and she expertly guided us through a fun morning of tasting food and wine from several wonderful and unique local vendors. We are still talking about the biltong we tried! Along the... More

If Simone turned you into biltong converts, we have succeeded in our cultural immersion task! That put a smile on our faces, thank you for the enthusiastic review. Next time you can join us on a Kayamandi township tour or Cape Malay cooking class if you feel like doing something different in Stellenbosch. More

First of all, our hats off to Hanli, our delightful guide, who made this half day tour so memorable! We spent four hours walking about Stellenbosch, a lovely university town about one hour outside of Cape Town. Hanli's knowledge of the history, architecture and present day life was remarkable. She kept our interest and made it fun to stop and... More

The tour was the ideal way to sample the different foods and drinks of the region (not just the wine, but there was plenty of that to taste too!). At each stop we were able to sample small portions of drinks and meals - a variety that we would not have if we tried to do it on our own.... More

Thank you for the review! We agree, you don't have to be a wine lover to enjoy Stellenbosch - although it doesn't hurt :) More

We had a brilliant morning with Hanli telling us a lot about the history of the town as well as the individuals that shaped it. One tip - skip breakfast!!! You'll have plenty to eat and drink on this tour and it's all lovely. Thoroughly recommended - the highlight of our time in Stellenbosch.

During our recent stay I stellenbosch this our was recommended by our guest house. We're very glad they did. It was very friendly and information and we tasted some fabulous food and wine. It also helped us understand the history of the town and where the best restaurants were for our stay. We would highly recommend.

What better way to see Stellenbosch than to eat your way around it. Thanks to Hanli our guide who escorted us around the different eateries and wine tastings and historical and tourist sites. Well worth the effort.

The walk through Stellenbosch is interesting, the food and drinks delicious and Hanli is the best of all. We enjoyed a tea tasting with rusks, a wine tasting with biltong and boerwors downtown, a wonderfull lunch in the oldest hotel and finally a nice desert with coffee in a beautiful setting at the river. Good experience, thank you, Hanli!
