Having grown up in Knysna, away for many years, and now back as a resident since eight years ago in Lake Brenton, this remains one of my favorite viewpoints of the Knysna lagoon and surrounds. I regularly stop here on my way to town just to “come down to earth”. So, so special. Highly recommended.

This is a viewpoint only.

There are no amenities. Shops, rest rooms or other facilities.
It's rarely crowded, so parking is easy.
The view itself is breathtaking. If you have time to visit simply for a viewpoint, this is a definite must on the list.
Every time we look at our photos, it brings back happy memories.

Enjoy

Superb view point to enjoy the scenic beauty of Knysna. The view point has a board providing international information about the sea creatures. A must visit site.

Best view of Knysna from the western side on the heads - on the Brenton on sea road - good for sunrise and moonrise at full moon

I drive past this viewpoint daily (and stop often) - either on my bicycle or in my car and it never ceases to amaze me. We are fortunate enough to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and this is one of the best places from which to enjoy that beauty.

Over the years I have stood and watched Knysna develop from Margarets garden - it has been a place to have a quiet view of Knysna. A place to watch the placid waters of the lagoon - just a place to sit

Margaret's Viewpoint is a nice stop on your way to Brenton on Sea. Very tranquil spot with a bench. You get an amazing view from a high point looking out over the lagoon and Knysna. Glad we stopped here.

Provides a nice viewpoint over the Knysna area. Nothing special tho. Basically just a parking place next to the road as far as we could see.

a Must to visit. You could see Knysna and the beautiful Estuary and The Heads. When travelling further you could also visit Brenton on Sea where you can go for a drink or something to eat plus enjoy more views.
