Brenton-on-Sea is great for walking and sunbathing and is popular with paragliders. A big rock formation, castle Rock, is a favourite fishing spot for locals. Swimming is dangerous because of rip currents.

Brenton is found by leaving Knysna in a westerly direction. As you follow the bridge over the lagoon it is signposted. The drive takes you to the top of the Knysna head - on the same side as the Featherbed nature reserve. The beach is a beautiful wide sandy bay, extending for about 4 km around Buffels Bay. For our... Really nice to drive around Knysna lagoon, have a coffee overlooking this long, long beach with its impressive surf and spray, and walk along the beach. It's not a place to swim, and there's nothing to Brenton apart from houses and a couple of cafes.

This is such a peaceful beautiful area, beautiful houses, good clean streets, lovely beach for long walks, the natural bush with proteas and fynbos every where. We are staying at Brenton on lake where the bushbucks , bunnies and guiny fowls are so tamed, the residents are feeding them by hand, lot of birdlife as well.

The rest of our family stayed in the chalets and they are beautiful, close to the beach and restaurants. We had breakfast at the Blu Restaurant which was lovely. The beach is clean and very close to these chalets

What a beautiful setting. This place must be completely overcrowded in season! Has some nice eatery options and also easy to find a good coffee. However, no shopping options; for groceries you will have to head into Knysna.

We called here to stretch our legs and visit a toilet during a day sight-seeing. The beach is fabulous and the patio area of the hotel/self-catering lodge above it was the ideal place to sit with a coffee and watch the waves. The shop also offers some very interesting local produce at reasonable prices.

We walked for miles! Parking was easy and the view is amazing. Only about 3 miles off the coast road at Knysna, lots of people in the sea so I think bathing must have been safe.
