Need I say more. The bay must be about 2 km long and has a steep bank of dunes running all along it-so you are separated from the houses on the other side. You can walk along and find your own little spot to enjoy the sea air and sun- no matter how busy the season is. Wish I could... More

The kids and us enjoyed the swimming, we made a fire for lekka potjiekos which we enjoy with nice wine. There after we went to the cafe and bought each an ice cream. Before we went we had one last swim and a stroll along the sea. We really had a nice "kuier lekker" the kids loved this and they... More

Lovely beach on a quiet weekday but gets too popular at weekends. Better to go to the other end of the bay at Brento-on-sea.

we were staying at 'Brenton beach house' located on the other side of the bay, on Brenton Beach. One way, we walked along the beach all the way to Buffalo bay. we went for a swim, and that was definitely the best beach we've been to in South Africa! forget Cape Town, Durban,Umhlanga... if you want to swim in the... Loved the horses and the people running it! They obviously care a great deal about their animals and they made a lot of effort with us.

stunning beach and you can walk all the way to Brenton on Sea and back - but make sure it's low tide or you'll have to negotiate the dunes. Perfect place to chill.

Nice beach just outside Knysna, stretched for many kilometres. Great spot for surfing, body boarding and swimming. Has 'Blue Flag' status! Lifeguards always on duty.

This is our second visit to Buffalo Bay and we love it! The first time we were staying in Knysna and took a short drive to spend the day at Buffalo Bay. At that time we had our 2 year old with us and it was fantastic. Definitely a place where it feels safe to let little children open up... More

What can one say? A little village of holiday homes, splendid white unspoilt beaches with rocks, round pebbles and the smell of the ocean.

The town is based on holiday makers. Many rustic houses on the sea, overflowing in season! Fantastic beach to stroll along for hours. Just one small shop and restaurant, but close to Knysna. The Caravan Park is on the sea, but unprotected when the Sou'easter blows! Great surfing and a slipway for the fishermen.Perfect for an out of season holiday.
